I'm looking for people who knew the following members of my family living in Gravesend in the 1970s. Charles Hearnden: Great Grandfather Pearl Wright (nee Hearnden, was Richards): Grandmother Other names (children of my Great Grandfather: Peggy, Margaret, George , Leonard. I'm researching family history and particularly interested in info on my Great Grandfather who died in 1983 or 1984 aged around 97. He fought in both World Wars and was involved in the Kent/Gravesend paper manufacturing industry. Ernie. He must have retired around about 1970. Dont know if that was the same man or not, but I think he was related to a George Wise, maybe by marriage. Hope this may have helped. I am looking for any information on my mother Joan Burles. She was born in Clapton London in 1919, to Edith Ellen Harding.Ellen and her parents David and Emma were living in Corinthian Road, Erith at that time.She married my father Arthur John Burles of Dickens Road Gravesend in 1947, after we were born. She left the family home in 1949 and since then I have been unable to find out where she went or what happened to her. She may be using the name Burles, Harding or Mcarthur.Her family came from Crayford Erith, so it was believed she went back there, with her cousin Monica Wilson. If any one attended Southfields School in the 60's, or North West Kent College of Technology they may remember Ian. He lived in Wilberforce Way in those days and was always great company. He worked as manager of the Heron Garage in Perry Street and was a cab driver for Auto Reps in Clive Road.He moved to Southampton in the nineties where he sadly died of cancer aged 58. Reply
