Live Music Venues
  • all closed down...Far Surfer is the main place now - London Road for cool dudes-working men's club....but a good crew go there....
  • Well, ive been popping in here for a while, and im amazed that THE FAT SURFER has taken a dashing here. I love the Surfer, and offers the best local night out bar none. The music is great, the people are great and the beer is C>H>E>A>P! Jim and Steve have done HUGE amounts for the scene and they have my respect. I always have a wicked time with my friends, and proudly dance my drunken arse down there every two weeks! Still if you'd rather have a moan about it and it does'nt meet your high standards, you can always go and drink 20/20 with the chav muppets in the church yard. Fools
  • THE FAT SURFER, now in it's FOURTH triumphant year. (contrary to OTHER PEOPLES MESSAGES ON HERE!) All new security guys who dont live in the area and don't let the idiots in; fully installed soundsystem (5K) and now 100% over 18's. (so no chance of getting puked over, eh?) Finally, the person who posted the derogatary comments ACTUALLY STILL COMES TO THIS VENUE and now see's the venue for what it is; a place for all local like minded types to come and have a beer and watch a band or three, no hassle. Check out www.thefatsurfer.com to see who's playing when and get the latest local band news. Fortnightly on fridays, doors open 8pm, shut 11.30. Com,e and support local talent!! WE PAY OUR BANDS; no 'pay to play' here.
  • I've been to the fat surfer a few time and had found it a wicked night out, Good music good atmosphere all round good time, if your into live music and fancy have some cheap beer pop down there it rocks!!
  • The Shant in West Thurrock has a live band on a friday night and and disco on a sunday night and is full of people out for a laugh!! Dont mistake it for the SHIP down the road that tatty old place wouldnt know a laugh if it jumped out of the rank beer and bit you on the nose i mean please has the landlord ever heard of a thing called a light bulb or a radiator! The shant also has a karaoke on the first Saturday of the month now that is one even you dont want to miss!!!!
  • The Fat Surfer. local bands for local people, not for a**eholes who slag us off on this board and who get chucked out of our club for being abusive to staff and our crew, remember posters are listed at the bottom of this page and i keep copies of older versions of this board, so it dont take much to work out matey! Your comments are also libelous and prove to everyone else who ENJOYS friday nights at the surfer that places like ours are wasted on freaks like you. Thanks i fell so much better now!
  • The Fat Surfer Run by a group of friends, now in its third year. Local unsigned talent, non-profit. Every two weeks. London Road. £4 entry www.thefatsurfer.com
  • Wateva!only go to the fat surfa if u wanna b puked on by kids who look suspiciously like they are 12 (although of course there not cos they would neva let an underage kid in, would they?)in baggy trousers and perved ova by spotty geeks or old bald blokes. Musics $hit too. + very unfriendly bouncers.
  • THE FAT SURFER!! 79, London Rd, Grays, opposite Morrisons Petrol station. New Web site: http://www.thefatsurfer.com
  • THE FAT SURFER!!! http:surf.to/thefatsurfer
  • THE FAT SURFER, across the road from lion fiat, in the grays working men's club.Featuring all the local bands now that the billet in stanford has given up the ghost! Started up by the 'fat surfer' himself, Steve from MONIKER! Top club top geezer, ect ect is that ok steve? you owe me a pint...jim the sound man!
  • If pub music (the bunch of fives) is not your thang, see Clubs
