- The Greave Dunning (Ember Inn, Six Continents Plc)
Definitely the pub to go to in Greasby, though its no way as good as the "Old Greave" (This was the Greave before Six Continents decided to smash the inside up and re-design it!!!). In the new Greave, the big screen, jukebox and function room have gone. But there are plenty of log fires & no segregated no smoking area. Pub hosts two quiz nights a week. Must admit is the most expensive pub in Greasby but its worth it! Food is good but you can get more for money in the Irby Mill.
Coach and Horses (Laurel)
Small quiet pub, attracts mainly the over 45's. Traditional old style pub. Could quite easily be classed as a locals pub.
The Cat (Shotz, Laurel)
Like what most sane people in Greasby say, STAY away if you are under 19! Especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Usually full of people with Tracksuits and White baseball caps. Has Sky Sports TV, Jukebox and Pool, but its really worth trekking down to the Railway in Meols if you want that. Food is nothing much to shout about either.
Irby Mill (Scottish and Newcastle)
Similar to the Coach and Horses attracting mainly the over 45's. Though if you are a fan of Cask Ale's like myself then this is the pub for you!! The Irby mill provides a fantastic range of cask ales with at least 7 different ales always available! It also has a series of cask ale festivals throughout the year (most notably around St Georges Day and August Bank Holiday). The Irby mill has a good beer garden that is great for drinking in the summer where there is often a beer tent during ale festivals. Food is a hit here too.
Twelfth Man (Country Cavery, Scottish and Newcastle)
Combined Public House, Restaurant and Hotel. Good for a restaurant meal, but not as a pub. Nothing too much to shout about here, unless you are looking for a place to stay then it is ideal.
- The Greave is a good pub, though since the re-furbishment is too "trendy" and not a patch on the old Greave. The Coach is Oldmanville. The Cat should be bombed and the Twelfth Man is slowly becoming a carvery!!!!
- The Cat is to be avoided if you're over 19. All the patrons look young to say the least. The Greave Dunning is VERY expensive. Better off travelling to Spoons in West Kirby. Irby Mill's good for sitting outside.
