Places to go to see the latest releases

You can tell us more about Grimsby.

Cinemas
  • there is one cinema in grimsby which shows one film a night, but not every night. the whitgift (a secondary school) screen. a little oasis, this actually shows films that may not have been on general release, and therre is an interval!
  • the new Parkway Cinema opposite Cleethorpes Boating Lake is OK is a big-shed-with-movies kinda way. Dorky staff, but the sweets and pop are cheap by multiplex standards.
  • new cinema think its 8 or 9 screens opened last summer and its a decent one, although set a little outside the town centre, next to the bowling place
  • Parkway Cinema is the closest to Grimsby. It's not on at all. Kids have to travel miles to see films, which only bumps the price up. Grimsby needs it's own cinema. There is Whitgift Film Theatre, but it's not in everyone's reach.
  • new one in cleethorpes
  • There is no cinema in Grimsby. But Cleethorpes has a squeaky clean aircraft hanger with lots of screens, high prices and no atmosphere. It's also miles away and not on a direct bus route. The taxi drivers love this. I don't.
  • The new parkway in cleethorpes is big and expensive. The odeon on freemo has now shut down.
  • BRAND NEW 9 SCREEN CINEMA OPENED AT MERIDIAN PARKWAY- pretty decent, lots of films showing.
  • Whitgift Film Theatre for art house and non main stream suff...always something good in the program! www.whitgiftfilmtheatre.co.uk
  • Freemo cinema is a shit hole but hopefully the new one on the seafront'll be open soon its taken em long enuff it beta be worth it..but for the meantime y not try louth or lincoln ther good:D
  • grimsby cinema is crap, though its got better since odeon took it over. they still don't show anything remotely indie (not even lost in translation!). luckily hull cinema isn't too far away.
  • building a new one down sea front at mo
  • CONTENDER FOR WORST CINEMA IN UK
  • Recently revamped. Carpet still sticky.
  • the "cinema" is pants. go to Hull.
  • we now have an odeon. well what was the point there is no difference except for the name
  • I regularly travel to Hull to watch a film. Anythings better than unsafe parking and cramped seating! (and I don't think the local freemo street cinema does hot cheese nachos yet LOL)
  • abc freeman st whitgift cinima
  • ID RATHER GO TO HULL THANKS ITS BIGGER AND LESS SMELLY
  • if your desperate, you might wanna try the ABC cinema in freeman street. otherwise, skip over to Hull and go to the UCI cinema. much better.
  • ABC cinema, on freeman street, next to kwiksave. a HUGE, 3 screen monolith testament to the golden days of pre-multiscreen cinema. polite staff, amazing smells. i'll cry when this place gets knocked down.
  • About time Grimsby had a decent cinema - modern, and comfortable but think one is in process of planning stage???
  • The ABC will soon be an Odeon, and will have a full refit to go with it. No other operators are interested in building a multi in the town
  • grimsby abc aint worth the trip or the money - wen u go in ur norm hte only 1z there n afta about 10 mins u find out y wen ur legs r achein from not enuff room n ur bumz hurtin from uncomfy seats
  • Whitgift.. can anyone actually 'remember' seeing Naked Lunch?
  • hahahahahaha the ABC with its sticky floors and narrow seats
  • Crap cinema in main part of Grimsby.
  • our cinema is cack its really ruff and dainty why i keep goiung there i dont knwo hey roll on the multiplex stuff hull
  • abc on freemo, dodgy, smells fusty, number 3 fits about 2 people in(just!)& they don't show the carpet advert or the westlers hogdog one or the butterkist ad(rah!rah!rah!) anymore progress....tch!
  • one cinema in freeman street mega dodgy but if you like uncovortable seats made for people under 5 foot 5 then you is in luck.
  • They reckon they're going to build a multiplex but there's been the same rumour for God knows how long.
  • ABC.... the best place to sit in gum!
  • Very poor indeed: lowest common denominator stuff in the ABC on Freeman St (which always smells of wee) and decent but infrequent stuff at Grimsby Screen (ex-Whitgift School FT). It's best to hike to the multiplex in Hull.... The upside is that as a consequence we're very well placed for video libraries.
  • try the whitgift film theatre its independant and plays decent stuff.details tickets etc from the central library
  • Cinemas?? hahahahahahahahahahahahaha The flea pit in Freeman Street, where your feet stick to the floor, because somebody spilled their drink there last century! I got head lice there!
