Cinemas
- Guildford Cinema is an Odeon, quite big, but of course that means the food is quite expensive. The bonus is that there is generally some leg room for you, unlike older cinemas, where you can be quite cramped.
- The odeon, is rubbish
go behind it for a quiet smoke instead.
- odeon...yea awesome dude
- the guildford odeon is pretty good - good choice of snacks, not much trouble off anyone.. it's right next to old orleans aswell and just a few minutes walk to the main bars and clubs so easy to make a night out
- Odeon- had comfy seats
- EEeeerrrrrrr...........the Odeon (10% off with student card)
- odeon.
- Good Cinema, but need to sell vital organs to go there.
- The Odeon near the river is the only cinema in Guildford. It's a bit expensive but you get assigned seating so don't have to rush to grab a seat.
- The Old Odeon at the top of the High Street, where 12 year old girls would taunt and shout at any of the boys they took a fancy to - unfortunately not around any more, as it was a rite of passage for most guilford kids
- Odean - Too expensive, can't drink, can't smoke. Isn't it about time these places were brought up to date?
- £13 for two tickets ain't going there again
- The Odeon has 9 screens, it's quite modern and good for a quite night out with a few friends.
The food can be a bit pricey but if you don't like it then don't winge at the staff (I understand they hear the same things about that 40+ times a night)and don't bother asking to sit as far away as your friend as you can when you buy tickets- it's a naff, well used 'joke'.
If there's any rubbish lying around, you've gotta give the staff a chance- they pick up your mess all day. And i don't just mean popcorn boxes, I mean tissues and spilt sauces. Thats not nice. And a note to adults- DON'T let your children hold food! Giving them popcorn is an invite for them to drop it- everywhere. What a waste of money.
STUDENTS- when you want tickets- say student ticket- not adult ticket. The staff aren't mind readers, and it saves them having to cancel the sale halfway through when you don't tell them straight away. and note- no student card- no discount! You wouldn't get a discount without one in HMV would you? That's something that saves holding up the queue, to make your visit as quick and simple as possible(I've seen all this in action in front of me).
On the whole, staff are very friendly (and hide their annoyence pretty well)and the management are just as helpful. There's a nice haagen dazs bar too- lots so top class ice cream- worth every penny. but watch out for the cheese sauce if you get nachoes- it's very yellow and weird looking. tastes ok though.
- getting stoned outside the odeon is the best thing about cinemas in guildford
- Unfortunately, the Regal in Cranleigh is being knocked down as I type and turned into flats (03/03).
- The odeon is good - but book if you want to see a new release cos they get booked out quick! Go on a Sunday and check out the Security Guards - one of them is fit!! The n go and have a drink in Old Orleans - I'd go for the cocktails they're well nice!!
- The Odeon, aren't many obscure films - art/foreign and if they are on, it's not for long enough, and it get really grubby at the end of the day.
- Odeon, I'de travel miles to see a film here, i love the cinema!
Spectrum entertainments center, this place is massive and kicks but! It has a massive out door stadium, massive swimming pool, massive ice rink, massive bowling arena, the lot.
- The big odeon in guildford is pricey but they do gooooooooooood slushies
- The Odeon is a great cinema if u r seeing a good film in a big screen. ITS OVER PRICED FOOD AND DRINKS WISE THO!!!!RIKI Lowther
- go to laser quest (near mac donalds) preferably off your face
- Odeon is the only place. Over priced - filled with f*cking townies and twats who talk over the film. Quasar - good when w*a*s*t*e*d. Bowling - over priced hell in that shit hole known as the spectrum.
- laser quest by the friary is laugh
- Odeon.. good place, good food, good laugh.. and yes screen eight, quite notorious among people.. try it and see...
- There's more interesting stuff to do that watch films.
- Big Odeon cinema with like 15 screens has all the lastest stuff - pretty cool!
- Odeon is good. Resonably good laser quest in firary centre / by bus station
- THE BIG ODEON IS GOOD IN GUILDFORD BUT QUITE EXPENSIVE. ITS NOT WORTH TRAVELLING FAR IF YOU JUST WANT TO SEE THE FILM BUT IT CAN BE GOOD TO CHILL OUT WITH YOUR MATES TO WATCH IN COMFORT WITH PLENTY OF SPACE!
- cinemas, big and good, well as good as they can be
- I would not travel miles to see a film there but you can have a quick jar b4 or after the film (its where the old rec. used to be) theres a lively boozer underneath called the Old Orleans.
- The new Odeon (Bedford Road) is OK, but it has no character and is often full of little bomber-jacketed Trevs. If you want a Proper Old Cinema run by Proper Old People, go to The Regal in Cranleigh (10 miles south). The owners are a bit weird and it takes ages for them to show new releases (there's only one screen), but it *is* an experience.
