Cafes and Coffee Shops
  • I love going to the coffee shop at the top of Steamer Trading called Caracoli, my favourite spot is at the front where the view of Guildford High Street and the hills beyond and fantastic. It is the best place to relax with a great coffee and check my emails (there is also a nice roof terrace when the weather is good).
  • Barn Cafe and Tea Shop - welcomes us (walkers) and our dog. Clean, welcoming, good food, lovely surroundings. New website: http://www.thebarnnewlandscorner.co.uk/
  • Café de Paris - Castle Street Very French café/restaurant - middling in price, but definitely worth it for the food (yes, they serve snails) and the relaxed atmosphere. Also good for pre-theatre meals. Café Rouge, Chapel Street - if Café de Paris is a little out of your league, try this chain restaurant. It has a nice atmosphere, although it's more cramped than its neighbour. Good steak.
  • I always end up in the coffee shop .No idea why as it never happens anywhere else . Wonderful coffee but dear . Do the owners of the shops attach something to the shops to lure in people ..
  • costa coffee sooo good
  • The Barn Coffee shop on Newlands corner.
  • Fresh Choices in Swan lane is lush...the baguettes are lovely and the Older staff are really friendly. A bit out of town but BUTTIES on the Woking road (next to what was the Bell Pub) is GORGEOUS door step butties for a realistic price ... gets VERY busy at lunch times... full of fit builders etc getting their lunch.
  • costa.. better than starbucks because it's not overpriced and has nicer drinks and food!! ...oh and comfy sofas!
  • The Woodbridge cafe must be the worse place i have ever eaten in my life! it's overpriced the food is poor and service is awful.
  • Plantation cafe in market street. it rocks!
  • everywhere - cant walk 100m without seeing 1
  • neros. plantation. starbucks. costa. cafenet.
  • Cafenet is a great place for food and does huge sandwiches. It no longer has internet access.
  • plantation, obviously
  • Cafe Nero - juz try there Mochas!
  • I can't believe everyone says how good Ha Ha is. It's overpriced and when they get a delivery in the summer they leave all their fresh veg out the back in crates with holes in the bottom, so they get all manky and dirty, and they start to go off in the sun. I'm surprised someone hasn't done something about it (obviously they have the policy for customers "What they don't know won't hurt them!") The staff are all stuck up and the manager Lee is the biggest dick alive because he thinks he's God's Gift and is rude to all the customers unless they're very pretty young girls!!
  • macdonlds!
  • Quarks Internet Cafe on Jeffery's Passage right near the Library is an alright place to hang out or spend ur time over a lunchbreak. While its coffee isnt exactly upto Costa standards, they have 12 phat gaming PCs on the top floor as well as the 8 net surfing machines downstairs. Its open till 9pm every night so its good to pop in with a couple of mates, go upstairs and shoot each others heads off. They also do drinks, snacks etc.... (Heres a tip though, the bottles of Oasis are only 80p in there so if you need a drink on a hot day then its a good scam to pop in and take advantage).
  • starbucks Cafe Nero
  • Starbucks!!! The one in White Lion walk is apalling but the one in Market Street by Route One is comfy, friendly and the waitreses are fine!
  • Costa, cafe nero, cafe net (EVIL PLACE WITH EVIL PPL), Starbucks ........ all ok (except 4 cafe net) but all over- priced like ne cafe really!RIKI Lowther
  • Loads of the sods everywhere - full of upper middle class bitches at lunch time
  • plantation
  • cafe net do really good sandwiches, they heap in so much filling its easy to loose half of it when you take a bite.
  • Rogues, a wonderful place where the snobby coke head businessmen hang out
  • definatly ninos cafe near pizza hut.all food cheap and value for money.open 8-3 'xept sunday
  • there are 2 starbucks already one at the bottom of the high st and one at the top (nr plantation) also puccinos and Costa (which was allegedly bombed by the Guildford 4 all those yrs back). Tables are hard to find on a saturday!!
  • Two Starbucks, and loads more besides!
  • "Fresh Choices" Coffe, Sandwich & Huice Bar in Swan Lane. They've got the best food.... The best freshly squeezed fruit juices and smoothies.... Reasonable prices.... The friendliest staff !! You can't go wrong !!
  • HaHa Bar on North ST, kinda expensive but really nice coffee.
  • THERES PLENTY OF CAFES IN GUILDFORD BUT QUITE EXPENSIVE. THE FOOD COURT AT THE TOP OF THE FRIARY IS NICE BUT CAN GET VERY BUSY.
  • For something different check out the Plantation Cafe, food & style.
  • Plantation, definately. Except they play such shite music. And why isn't punk nite on anymore- you too lazy tom??? :)
  • Cafe Toto has closed down, but a new cafe has opened there - I think it is called "HaHa!", but I am not certain. "Jo Clark's" is a nice but expensive tea shop / cafe
