Cheap Food
- Crystal's cafe is cheap and sel tasty pai mash and lica to take away, yum!
- the Poona in Hadleigh is the best Indian Restaurant for miles around, the contributor who complained it has gone downhill must have had a severe cold when they went to the restaurant, try it for yourself, it is great!!!!!
- WOODYS is now "the bay tree café" but as far as i can tell, its exactly the same, but its taken over the card shop next door.
- Buster browns.rite at the start of hadleigh before safeways. new but gorgeous. ALSO woodys, turn left at the trafic lights infront of iceland instead of going straight in the direction of southend.gorgeous food there.,
- A good restraunt named "La villa" has been around for ages but was only open at night. It opened during the day a couple of months back then shut down for refurbishment - gave you a good cheap meal though! Another place is Buster & Browns now opened - seems a bit pricy but may make Hadleigh a little more interesting
- Sadly the Poona has gone terribly downhill - the food is now at best meidocre, the service poor and the atmsophere mouldy. If you are looking for a curry, go an extra couple of miles to enjoy either the Shima or Taj in Leigh-on-Sea
- The Poona used to be the best Indian restuarant for miles around, but the mentions of it previously are now sadly out of date. Under new ownership, the quality of food and of everything else has gone down hill to the point where it's much better to travel a couple of miles into Leigh-on-Sea if you want fine Indian cusine
- Mastroannis is now closed.
- For fish and chips go to the Codswallop fifh bar. Really nice curry rolls.
- Two chip shops and a Chinese takeaway offer standard fare (and harbour a fascinating gambling tale) but for the best in food in Hadleigh it has to be the Poona - a totally pukka Indian restuarant which manage to transform a staple Anglo-Indian favourites into something worth devouring.
