Favourite Building
- Hadleigh castle, not really a building any more but some ruins and a great view over the thames estury.
- west one.
- If Hadleigh castle counts then thats my favourite building. Great for kids and kite flying.
- The Kingsway cinema, until it was demolished in the late 60s. Check out this web site for some history: www.hadleigh-compton.org.uk
- The ruins of Hadleigh Castle are splendid but do not constitute a building, but the Church of St.James the Less is truly beautiful. A fantastic bit of simple, Norman architecture in a sea of bland seventies shops and houses.
- St James the Less, a Norman church. Taken as just part of the visual static by most people who live their, it's a rare case of the veneration a church seem to get automatically just for being old actually being justified. It's a bit of chocolate box England amid post-war concrete mess.
