  • Lapal - where there is a defiante attitude of 'cause we are considerably richer than yauw!!!'
  • Friendly people and traders, and less manic than Merry Hill. The Farmers Market every month. The annual Victorian Street fair. Pedestrianised streets.
  • Crap Coppers, loads of open spaces,
  • The drive out
  • The highly amusing headlines in "Hayley Green Matters: Newsletter of your local Conservatives" e.g. "Bus station rowdiness to be tackled" and "Belbroughton Road to be re-surfaced".
  • The fact that it's better than the rest of the Midlands.
  • The scenery is just beautiful really. Nice pieces of countryside.

  • Who said "rural countryside"? What other sorts of countryside can you get?
  • the woodman
  • Do what you like, because by the time the local 'old Bill' have kickstarted their zimmerframes, you could be sunning yourself in Marbella!
  • Halesowen Town Football Club is one of the oldest clubs in the country (1873), with a nickname 'The Yeltz' so old and obscure that noboby now knows what it means. It's a friendly club and the standard of football is usually pretty good. Check the website at yeltzland.net, it's excellent.
  • There's easy access to anywhere. Birmingham is spitting distance away, but far enough that you're out of the city shit. The crime rate is low compared to the rest of the area (but that's got more to do with the fact that Halesowen Police are as lazy as hell). Clent Hills is close by and there's also loads of rural countryside.
