- Dannie the DJ from Coiners - he's gets everywhere! - apparently he's a signwriter during the day and he's got blackboards on nearly every pub in Halifax (they are quite good too!..) You usually find him pissed up in the Acca on a Thursday surrounded by equally pissed up Barstaff from all the other pubs!
- Dot Owens of Ovenden, Halifax started the first UK star trek fan club back in the early seventies. She appeared on a various News/current affairs programs, ran all the convensions and was known and loved by both the actors of star trek and other sf programmes of the era not to mention the thousands of sf fans around the world. 'Does that count'.

- One of the Thompson Twins (dodgy early-80s pop band) originally came from Halifax. Bruce Foxton, formerly of The Jam, more recently used to hang out in the Upper George pub in the centre of Halifax. Sarah Blackwood, singer with 90s popsters Dubstar, used to serve behind the bar in said pub, and she's from nearby Illingworth. The guy who invented cats-eyes, somebody-or-other Shaw, was a dyed-in-the-wool 'Fax man from cradle to grave, even after he became stinkingly rich.
