Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars in Halifax, West Yorkshire*
Where to go to get down
You can tell us more about Halifax.
Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
- Oooops sorry got wrong club below please ignore
- Fusion club halifax KEEP AWAY Full of drugs.
Owner lets them deal
- Local dj danny kavana has taken over a nightclub that used to be called chicagos but its called something else (fusion or something) which does afterpartys until 6 downstairs. Every main dj works there and its become the place to be on a weekend. Definetely worth checking out.
- halifax is a shithole dont go its wank!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Theres loads of bars in Halifax at the moment, so you're spoilt for choice, but if you're after something a bit different theres a local guy called Danny (I don't know his last name) but he's like one of the big names in Halifax at the moment, he's a real nutcase and he works all over town but if your looking for a busy night out just go see him, he's like the main local DJ at the moment.
- halifax is a buzzin night out if you no where to go start with bar 11 edisons mcclouds and then straight to nemesis youll av a great night
- only one club plays real dancein halifax NEMESIS top night oh APOLLOS top 2
- well what can i say, yes it is a better night in hudds and leeds etc. but if u live in halifax u can have a good old night in the fax! i like to start off in the goose as this is quite popular with us young ones, then to yates or NV which are okay for a quick drink but NV has some good old skool tunes! ( except a few chavs) we normally go to barracudda after this as it is THE place to go in halifax for a good old boogy!- and bump into someone u didnt expect to see out!! as tis has happened many times! bar eleven a good one to go to next b 4 moving on round corner to the colli! this is a guaranteed good night! steering clear of underage ppl especially in edisons, acca, nemesis, appolos etc etc... and definitely don't go to chavs the staff walk round like zombos and u get checked out by all the 40+ men AND women! lol
- Hailfax is a quality night out and getting back to how things used to be, Police, street wardens and 'Street Angels' keep the streets safe and Bar 11 & Barracuda are top bars. Always finish in the Acca (Acpaulco) - Been under new mangement since June 05, no under age, little incidents and a real good party atomosphere, a real change to get good Draught in a night club. Most of the heresay about the Acca is from people who have never been (or can't now get in)!
- the plummet line is the best pub,for a mix of indie and absolutley everything( thers a dukebox althou it mostly tends to play oasis and ace music like that)...the staff are quality and the drinks are cheap...get yourself ther!! (its just up from baracuda)
- Just go to Burnley tbh... Its better than Halifax, Huddersfield and Bradford put together.. :)
- acca is full of under age scratters, collie is not bad .edisons wall 2 wall kids. Nv total crap even kavangh not doing himself any favours there, yates is good fun. Apollos top toons as is nemesis under it, cooler KEEP OUT its the metal gangs . Goose wants shooting . Tube good toonsbut its a drug den b carefull if you go there.
- coli- good fun, decent people come here.
acca- cheap good for drinks then move on. easy to pull.
nemisis- chavs + drugs
zoobar- weird. mostly underage.
tramshed- as above
jaks- older end generation- on their last legs. nethertheless good fun
there are others probably not worth mentioning
PS: baracuda and bar 11 are good warm up bars
- The aka is full of cheap sluts, dont go there
- Nemesis- play bassline, retro, bouncy house music etc dj pete monsoon dj's on a saturday also Billy Williams a brill night out if you like that sort of music.
- The Cell is classy and its variation in entertainment is second to none in town
- Halifax is a really gud nite out, jus depends where you go, the aka is a dog kennel!! if your desperate to pull then its the perfect place to be!! but beware its full of scratters!! Jumpin jaks is a gud place to be, the atmosphere is great, full of friendly people, best nite is sunday, all RnB. Coliseum is a fantastic nite out, not full of posh snobs just cos we pay extra for the drinks, quality is much better than quantity!! (unlike the aka! ha) Tramshed and Zoo bar have been closed down due to 80% of their patrons being underage in one nite!! Nemesis (formerly flares) is a pauper version of the aka, full of scratty chavs! (this is true to my knowledge!!)
- Halifax is totally shit for a nite out! go to huddersfield n leeds there more choice of clubs there
- acca is the best place is be on a friday cheap beer even if u dont like it for 50p a drink go get sloshed and move on, gettin strickt on id near christmas tho nemesis is ok good music but a place to get off your head tube retro night another place to get off your head and goes on till 6 in the morning get ur self there every first saturday in the month, colly is 4 posh snobs
- THE COOLER IN THE SAME ALLEY AS NEMESIS FUCK EVERYWHERE ELSE IN FAX
- Nemesis - Chav house
Accapulco - Cheap and Cheerful
Colluseum - good for dance and rnb (and really anything thats popular at the time)
Jumpin'jacks - Expensive version of the accapulco - dance etc just the Dj doesnt like playing full songs - just 30 secs of em
Tube - trance on a friday and majoritally funky/deep house any other time - holds retro monthly
Zoobar Ska etc rock club
The cooler (old Tc's near Appollos) rock music very, very loud new place lots of effort put in.
- I notived on here that most of the updates are SO old, tha I'd give you a brief redition of the state of Hlaifax nightlife at the back end of 2005.
PUBS: The Goose: ( I think it's a chain) is great for starting off for us youthful types, a bottle of wine is less than a fiver, and there's lots of 40+ customers, who tend to stay in there all night.
NV: My favorite, not everones! Used to be coiners and absolutley chav-tastic with retro nights, everyone agreed it was bangin! However after a couple of managment changes, and the loss of everyone's fave pitchers and shooters, some people have begun to go elsewhere. HOWEVER.... not many pple know this but there's a new fresh-faced DJ in now, who belts out retro tunes on a weekend and is fantasic! Free pool on a friday afternoon they'll be a bit of the old Coiners back in there soon!!! Drink promos are OK too, 2for1 on VK's and absynsh and sambucca £2 each!!
YATES': What can I say? it's a Yates. some good drinks promos.
BARACUDA: Oh yeah, Bazza! Baracudas a great pub, bit hit and miss with the tunes, genrall chart dance and RnB on a weekend, but still great! Go there to watch the footy, it gets ram-packed and a graet atmosphere. Also a good place to hang out during the day, with nice food.
EDISONS: (chavisons) but we still love it! Thurs Sat it's always busy, and great place to go dance, most people will frequent Edisons on a night round Halifax, so chances are if you want to bump into someone, go there!
McClouds: Next door to chavisons, it's a nice little bar, good for starting off, with the cheap pitchers, and nice food in the day. Does get busy on a night too, but a bit sardine-y-fied!
PICTHERS: The people who got there love it but it's a dark little hole really, with maximum intoxication.
BARUM TOPP (WITHERSPOONS):
ANOTHER ONE TO START OFF IN, CHEAP DRINKS, NICE FOOD no music though,
APOLLOS: Very Chavtastic, plays banging hardhouse, but is a good laugh.
NEMISIS: Just on the back of Apollos (A club version of it) Very Cyhavtastic with hardhouse DJ Pete Monsoon there on a saturday, keeping the pillers raving till 3am.
ACAPULCO: (AKA AKA, SKRATA, SLACKA) Well the aca's aliases tell you all you need to know. good for half an hour to get tanked up, very cheap drinks, fom thus-sat the bar tariff rangs from 50p- £2 so well worth going or a drink. Cheesy music, suspiciously youthful clientel, and some rather old pervy letches who apper to just go for the view!!!
COLLISEUM: (aka, Colli!)
The Colliseum is where pretty much anyone who is not a scratter, a chav, or a child go (slthough there are always some exceptions!) Definatley the best night in halifax open till around half 2 with a random selection of tunes on a thus, with a boys V girls style comp, where the winners get a 50p bar.
Friday and satuday, is commercial dance and Rnb, although saturday is always busier, itsalways a great time.
MAINE STREET: adjoined to the Coli, mainestreet playa a wider selection of music from the Beatles to Queen, to the YMCA. more popular with the older folk, although evryone goes in, and is at a much more laid back pace than the Colliseum.
- the acca is ace and has got shit hot music!
- gotta love fagins...although too may chavs go there now
- Masses of night clubs. We have more nightclubs then Blackpool.
- What sort of prick is trying to tell everybody that the zoo bar and the acca is cood and one of the bast nights out? You are WRONG, i would rather eat my own foot than go to any of those holes in the ground
- go 2 the zoo, its fukin ace, yea it might smell and there int any loo roll but the musics amazing and every1s mega friendly
- HALIFAX HAS THE BEST CLUBS THAT YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE!!!!!! COLLILSEUM IS SLICK! BIG UP MY BOYS ON THE WEST SIDE!!!!!!!!!
- The Zoo Bar. Is the only club where people dont hide behind uncomfy clothing and fake smiles. It's friendly, its got a huge outside area for talking, it has 3 rooms all with different music, metal, rock, dance, emo, indie, D n B etc. The alcohol is cheap. There is plenty of seating. The Dj's do actually play requests unlike other clubs. It has a cool flyer.
Open Fridays 9pm - 2am.
NINman = Zoo Bar dj
Zoo Bar Forum for advance requests, general chat and pictures = www.thezoobar.net
- THE ACCA IS A SHIT HOLE. HEATHS AS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY A OVERWEIGHT HOMOPHOBIC SLAPPER. IF I WAS YOU I WOULDNT EVEN VENTURE INTO HALIFAX FOR A NIGHT OUT, GO TO LEEDS. FLARES IS NO LONGER CALLED FLARES ITS NOW CALLED CLUB NEMMASIS AND IS FULL OF CHAVS AND WANKERS OH SORRY CHAVS ARE WANKERS.
- Sincerity, a new club opening where the old La Mania aka Dad I Think Ive Done It Wrong Again used to be. Neither of the above did very well but on the "happy days" team we ensure to bring the best of live music from different cultures to the area. Using local bands and local DJ's. The club will be on a strict agenda of over 25's. Although student nights will be running on tuesdays
- halifax is crap for nightlife, the club near the old cinema is run by drug dealers
- The Zoo bar is the friendliest place in town playin the best music. Everyone wears cool clothes, the drinks are cheap, but beware...theres never any loo roll!
- Jumpin Jaks is the only half decent club in Halifax, the rest are absolute crap
- Well when the club platinum was opened it was great, allthough a lot of youngsters were about, it has now shut down, flares is another bloody nightclub 2! The best place at the min is aka its cheap and friendly, the colli is full of snobs!!
- Student night on a thursday- colliseum guaranteed to show u a good night. VIP nothin special though. Bar 11 just been done up- its the place to be. Dont even bother goin to Acca unless ur desperate or have a love of cheezy music. Big up ma homies.
- AVOID HALIFAX GO TO HUDDERSFEILD OR EVEN BRADFORD
- EVERYONE used to go to Club platinum for the teenage nights , but now its closed down and called sumert like *oopz dad i did it again* and it isnt open yet but i hope they do do teenage nights , at the moment the colli (aka coliseum) is the best for teenage nights , but for other normal nights there stricked on ID !! Beleive me
- Poo Bar! yea its a dump but it plays good music and everyones really nice n has fun
- Collosium the best club in halifax. Top music to dance to. Best dance floor with all your lazer lights. Its more like a club you would see on TV. And the ladys are nice. Down side is expensive, unlike aka which is top for booze and a easy pull.
- Collesium, Jumpin Jaks, The Acca, Tube, Zoo Bar, Tramshed
- Halifax Fri 24th September 2004

Tel : 07970 589302 for information
- any club in hx is ok to get fucked up in
- Most of the info is out of date so just to update- the ABC cinema has turned into a Jumpin Jaks, and believe it or not it is packed and has a good atmosphere on most saturdays and sundays. The colliseum is usually good on a Thursday and Saturday however it depends on the DJ. As for the others- dont bother, the tramshed has a seriously bad reputation, as does the Acca (club in which u r most likely to get bottled)!!!The Tube is never that busy however the retro night is supposed to be good. As for bars, stick to Eddisons, Mclouds, Barracuda (formerly barcentro), Bar 11, and if you must Wetherspoons. Enjoy!
- FLAIRS WHAT A SHIT HOLE AND THE DOOR MEN ARE BRAIN DEAD DICK EDS
- If you dont like clubbing then head to Zoobar/Tramshed. Zoobar has live bands every sat nite and the two tramshed rooms have cheesey music and metal/punk/ska. Oh yeah they only open on friday and sat nite!!!
- flairs is a dump. Alot of gays hang out there
- the acca is not for slappers its a good nite out so dont diss it.halifax might be a shithole but it aint that bad once u get used to it.the cinema in halifax has been changed in to a nightclub called jumpin jacks and its a shithole!!!!!!
- the zoo bar full of wierdo's who have nothing to do with their life exept smoke pot and get stoned
- The zoo bar for alternative no pop or dance shit go to club platinum or collie for them
- ACCA has now gone more upmarket! no more acca slappers? now has got a freindly people and staff are second to none. give it a try you might be supprised to how it has changed. The other night clubs in town seem to have clubbers that still use half fare passes on the bus???????????.oh and now la mania has closed and it is now platanum and is ok for trance and dance music but still young clubbers!.
- the zoo bar. how crap it is. y don't i jus go 2 school on a fri/sat nite?! its FULL of people from my scule (North Halifax Grammar) and Crossley's!
- the tube
- Youngest recorded age (unofficial) in the Zoo Bar..... 11! Be warned.
- le zoo bar. if you like air guitar, shaking yr head violently, dark, smelly pits. warning: the zoo bar's odour will stay on your clothes for weeks. no joke. i love it.
- Definately Weatherspoons to start, then moving onto the hip kinda places like baracuda, McClouds then Edisons, then depending on your tastes Coliseum or Jumpin Jaks(coz Liberty X played there the other day)However i prefer Coliseum/Maine Street, its always the best way for a good time. I would advise staying away from Acapulco(Acca) its a loada S**t, dont even get me started on the Zoo Bar! Somewhere i've never tried is Club platinum, supposedly full of townies but i dont know, just try it.
- go to the zoobar. its ace! an if u think its a shithole then go to hell. u hypocrits. the best place in halifax! yea!
- For a good night in Halifax simply go to the Colliseum (or The Colly as Halifax Youth call it), drinks can be expensive on a Friday night but it is 2 for 1 until 1AM which isn't bad. The fag machine never bloody works though so make sure you buy your smokes beforehand. The Colly is an excellent club, not full of wankers like the Tramshed (where regular chants of "I'm gonna fookin' kill ya!" can be heard, the staff are great and the clubbers are always friendly and willing to help you up when you collapse after drinking all night! After your visit to The Colly go up to Ziggy's Spice House where you can have a meal... or just drink of course, with a taxi rank right next door this is a great place to wind down after a night out before you go back to someone's house for a party.
Stay Away From: Tramshed (full of gits) Acca (full of children and 50 year old perverts) Jumpin' Jaks (just very crap in general... although it can be fun sometimes)
- The Cheeky! Retro Night @ Barracuda, its once a month and its rammed with top totty - Plus Dannie Kavanagh's there, he's mental!
- Acca, Tramshed, Zoo Bar are all places to go if your young (18ish). Divas mainly if your a student. Tube if you want to be up all night partying but i would recomend the coliseum and maine street, classy music and classyish birds.
- Coliseum, Jumpin' Jaks, Tube, Acca! (Go to Leeds/Manchester!)
- I love coliseum i go there every friday night its the best place is for teenage nights.La mania is also the best place aswell its big its new good music...
- coliseum!! eddisons!!! great place great music.great drink.great prices.great people!! ..
- Get yourself to Bar up,Union Cross Yard behind McDonalds on Saturday 21st September for a CHEAP buzzing night out. Free entry aswell as two for one on loads of bottles including stella and the tequila shots are only £1! BARGAIN!!DJs Tony Ellis and Adam Philips, who have been playing the US sound for over 15 years between them are making a welcome return with a night of playing proper house, from 1996 classics to the newest American cuts.
- Colosium and the tube are the best nights out and they are not just full of slappers there are some funky diva's
- Over the last 18 months the Ukrainian Club, [King Cross, HAlifax], has become one of the most popular live music venues in Halifax. Every month more than 300 young people flock to this great venue. 'The Ukie'is THE place for young up-and-coming bands from the Halifax / Huddersfield / Bradford area - garage punk, metal, indie, ska pumk, techno, etc. etc. Good bar, good bands [3 per night], good crowd - all for £3.50 entrance. Next gig 29th June. See you there!
- Acca suc, sticky floors and sweaty smells as well as fat over age 'women' with tatoos and bad hair as well as countless dumb locals with earings and long sleeved shirts with a need to start fights
- MIssing from the above great line up of clubs and other drinking venues is the new 'Goose On The Parade'. The Goose fits more into a sofisticated town centre than a place like Halifax, but is a good way to start the night - open all day, and changing from a nice drinking spot in the day, to a great starter for the clubber to...get into the flow of spirit...it is always busy. A great place to be seen before the other clubs open, the Goose will also serve you up a bit of style. But style comes at a price, and the Goose does this well.
- hey as a regular zoobie (patron of the zoo bar) i would just like to say don't go there it is a hell hole it smells and once you make friends there you will never be able not too go. I just wish i could afford to go to Rios in Bradford every night instead
- the patrons in the zoo bar seem to have got even younger now. its true!!!! theres flares for grease and abba music, theres xs and coliseum and la mania for for chart/dance, and theres the zoo bar for rock/metal/indie etc. and theres billions of pubs.
- The Biggest Place is the Coliseum - However La Mania is quite bit but its full of snotty office freaks!, The Acapulco (ACCA) is great for slappers and CHEAP BEER (50p!.. on a Thursday) and The Revival is good for a Sunday
- The tube is the best club in halifax. With all big name Dj's playin the best in Funky House and garage.Cool and sexy club with nice birds.
- Maine Street and Coliseum are favoured by the locals. Maine St is upstairs from the Coliseum and if you have paid into the Coliseum you get in free.
The Tube is open until 8/9am so if you fancy an all nighter that's the place to go.
Flares now Divas was a 70's bar - very studenty.
Acapulco - OK on a Thursday night when drinks are 50p each. Fridays and Saturdays usually some deals on too.
Zoo Bar and Tramshed for goth lovers and heavy heavy music lovers.
By far the best place to drink is Bar Centro and Witherspoons (Witherspoons do quite cheap deals)
- Try the Zoo bar for Indi/Rock this has to be the best club in Hx.
- tramshed is you wanna get started on by young twockers
coliseum is you want an easy lay with a slapper
acca if you like the more um mature lady
- Colly, flares (ack), tube(ack), acca(not as bad as its rep), and laodsa bars :o)
- Zoo Bar/Tramshed provides anything from heavy metal to Europop with absolutely no pretensions (or much in the way of money spent).
- zoo bar, tramshed, tube, acapulco,
- Maine street is the best of a bad bunch. with beer prices that are unforgivable
- Lots of clubs and pubs in Halifax, in fact Halifax has more late night drinking licenses than Blackpool.
On the club scene, Colosseum, Flares, Tramshed 2000, Revival, Main Street and about 3 or 4 others. Not a bad night out, but mini cab prices can vary so be careful.
- Edisons formerly Ma Bakers above McClouds-formerly Maggies is THE best place to go for a drink, open from late afternoon till regular closing weekdays and till 2am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. We have 2 hot DJ's Sexy Sid and Dannie Kavanagh playing dance tunes and chart music. You're bound to know somebody in there and the bar staff are not only sexy but really friendly too. Come and check us out.
- The "Zoo Bar" good if you're into goths.
The "Coliseum" if your after a random townie slapper.
- Flares (used to be the "Cats Bar") plays 70's music
- The Biscuit Bar has now been closed down. The `happening` bar in town is the Continental.
- Try Colliseum - if you must.
- There's a hell of a lot of clubs. Try Baileys or the Biscuit Bar.
