The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Halifax.
Pubs
- The Old Cock & Sportsman 2 great pubs!
- Theres loads of pubs in Halifax - your spoilt for choice really!
- Halifax on the whole is Chav central! If you like the fight and a pint culture, and fat girls who dress inappropriately (do these ladies actually own a mirror) it may be for you. Get your self down the Acapulco club get pissed on 50p drinks pull a slag. Visit the Tube if you fancy a night of gurning, but watch out for the bouncers they are wankers. The George is the best pub in HX still, and Fagins is OK, but its usually full of 14 year olds and the guy who runs the place doesnt know is arse from his tit, he cant seem to grasp the concept that a bar actually needs to stock beer! Bar 15 AKA The Mullet Shack is full of men who look like retired wrestlers. And Coolers is full of freaks and expensive.
- PLUMMET LINE/GOOSE
- wetherspoons- older.
plummet line- one pount to 1.50 a pint. nuff sed
- The Cell, what a dramatic place with all the classiest women in town all dolled up
- hey - -just back from 3 years in ozz - -whaty's happened to X'CESS ??
- Appollos Noal (Donk house DJ), with Matt the Tw@. NV Andie on a friday with old skool and Dannie Kavanagh on a saturday with his "Return to Coiners Cheeky", playing club classics. Yates has a party Dj all weekend. The white horse doesnt have a dj but has had a refurb and looks very good - great atmosphere.
- The Delvers arms at wainstalls, home made meat & potato pie washed down with a pint of Lancaster Bomber real ale, HEAVEN!! ps Flintoff is behind the bar.
- The Barum Top Inn is nice.
- Portman and Pickles for rock music and nice environment, plumet line for same, both with pool tables
- Barracuda, wetherspoons, McClouds, Goose are all ok but avoid: Union Cross, Upper George, Heaths, Brass Cat cos they are all really dire!
- Fagins, plummit line, portman and pikles bout the only 3 i go in tbh
- well , i think for a pub would have to be the grand view (lee mount) or ovvy way (ovenden) there known for gud fights and fit lads :p
- The fleece in barkislands good. Goose n Hairy Lemon are quite good aswel.
- Goose, Yates, Wetherspoons
- Have you seen the big screen in the Upper George, in Halifax? its a really, really good place for the football. Its a good pint at a good price.
- Fagins, small atmospheric bar just round the corner from The Union Cross. Lots of wood, shaped like a railway carriage, feels as if your on an old Pirate ship. Good music.
The Ring'o'Bells. Near the station. Next to the Parish Church. Good place to go for people watching. Lots of characters passing through. Sound of church bells on the hour.
- The Hairy Lemon. It's at the start of Hopwood Lane just close to Bull Green. Stylish with shiney wooden floors. Bit pricey but quite different and has a continental ambience.
- Stick to these- Barracuda, Mclouds, Eddisons, Bar 11...in that order! There are some real dives! Oh and they have a attendant persons in the mens toilets in Eddisons- how classy (hes known by locals as chuppachup man)!
- OUR PUBS AND CLUBS ARE ACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- portman and pickle is good and cheap across from whsmiths
- The Old Cock on a thursday, great bands playing
- Cheap beer & Good music in The Plummet Line. Nuff said. Oh yeah, kids allowed in till 2 under adult supervision. That still doesn't mean Zoo Bar gromits! Sorry to get your hopes up.
- Edisons has now gone Alternative on Wednesday nights. Metal, Hip Hop, Punk, Ska, etc. Nice atmophere. Plus you can run around playing army to the A-Team theme tune. How ace!
- Barracuda - its a bit crap, but once a month there's a retro night and is very busy
- Barracuda - its a bit crap, but once a month there's a retro night and is very busy
- Too many! Town centre has loads - stick to the top of town to alleviate the risk of disfigurment!
- The GOOD MOOD was the best club and live venue ever. I saw amongst others THE BEAT, SELECTER, GENERATION X, DEDRINGER and THE CHORDS.
- lolol no minors loll
- Get yourself to Bar up,Union Cross Yard behind McDonalds on Saturday 21st September for a CHEAP buzzing night out. Free entry aswell as two for one on loads of bottles including stella and the tequila shots are only £1! BARGAIN!!DJs Tony Ellis and Adam Philips, who have been playing the US sound for over 15 years between them are making a welcome return with a night of playing proper house, from 1996 classics to the newest American cuts.
- religious thursday night routine, wetherspoons mcclouds bar 11 eddisons yates then on to divas. Perfect night out. all full of friendly people and you'll always see someone you know! bloomin great!

- Drink great Bass beers and lagers while tucking into sizzling steaks at the Bass House!!!
- Barum top - cheap - v.scary however. The portmans good
- Follow the A646 Burnley Road for a few miles until you get to Luddendenfoot. Coach & Horses in the bottom of the valley is a proper pub, with real ale, superb food, and 'local people'.
- eddisons lively but usually full
or pictures for large screen sports
- The Coiners is without a doubt the best pub for atmosphere - its dead during the week but from Thursday to Sunday its RAMMED! - There's Dannie Kavanagh and Richard James DJ there - probably the best DJ's in Halifax and Coiners is the home of the Cheeky! retro night, its not to be missed.
- tube bar "T bar" above tube club...again nice atmosphere full of top totty students
- The Winterburn (formerly Masons arms) in Warley has the best kept beer in Yorkshire.
The atmosphere is great, the food excellent and the views are breathtaking.
'Try the Warsteiner'
- plenty :D
- Edisons serviced by the BEST DJ's in Halifax there is Sexy Sid resident on wednesdays, thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays playing the music you want to hear and then we el studenti himself Paul resident on fridays with a massive groove. - Big 6, off Savile Park Moor, is a terrace house converted into a pub, and is about as good as it gets in a homely, old-fashioned way.
Puzzle Hall Inn in nearby Sowerby Bridge is one for the beards but is quirky and worth a visit.
- maggies, bar 11 and barum top( but only for the cheap drinks)
- if you want a proper yorkshire pub, tyr the junction in holmfield. talk pigeon fancying and whippet breeding to your hearts content!
- maggies and bar elevern. a quick ' lets get a much cheap bar down us as we can in 10 minutes ' trip to barum top is always fun.
- Absolutely loads of pubs, don't just stike to the town centre, which there are loads, and new ones opening monthly. On the outskirts of Halifax, there are many pubs wich open till 2am as long as you are in by 11pm.
The Moorlands Inn on the A629 or The Whole Hogg are excellent bars, which open late, (They have food licenses so can do so).
- Puzzle Hall Inn, Sowerby Bridge - live music three nights a week , curry night on a wednesday, quiz night on a Friday - excellent place to just chill!
- Upper George Crap beer but great atmosphere.
- The Shibden Mill Inn, located in the deepest, darkest part of Shibden Valley where there is no street lights, my regular when at home. Go on a Thursday Night to see all the oldboys in their 1930's cars, friendly staff.
- The new WCs at Bull Green is absolutely excellent. It's really friendly and intimate with dodgy Victorian pornography dotted about the place.
- After a visit to the Piece Hall, exit via the westgate, Call for good pint and a nice buttie, try the Westgate pub and after the Zoo bar up cow green, (rock/indies).
- portman & pickles lewins union cross
