Cheap Food
- loads of Turkish run kebab houses, a fried chicken joint, a couple of Chinese takeout places and a couple of Indian restaurants - in my opinion, the curry cottage in head street is the best Indian fast food ive encountered... but that could be because im a curry nut ^_^
- The best place for cheap food is the Halstead Cafe. You can go there for egg and chips, a cup of tea, and much more. Cheap and cheerful. CDs sandwich bar is also very good, and so is Brambles (situated in Scenarios Pub).
- There are 3 indians, 4 chineses, 1 thai, 1 italian, 1 greek, 2 traditional english, 1 greasy spoon, 1 sandwich bar and 3 kebab/fried chicken places in halstead. Not including any pubs, most of which also serve food.
- Sizzlers does really nice curries
- The white hart's food has come on really well since changing hands in 2002
its a great place to eat.
- Crap again.
- theres a range of restaurants that all do take aways. there is the tailight which is traditional tai food. Friend blossoms and halstead chinese that do chinese.sizzlers and hlstead tandori for indian and many many more from fish and chips to italian.

- Whispers Winebar & Brasserie. Without doubt the best food in Essex.
