Cinemas
- The cinema was in the Halstead Empire Theatre, but that has gone now, due to lack of attendance. Shame, as now we have nothing.
- The empire has now closed, I think. Which is a real shame. You're best off in braintree freeport.
- I like the Empire cinema. It's cheap&eerie&the film usually cuts out a cupla times, but it's better than going to a soulless cramped Odeon/UGC etc
- The good old £2.50 Empire. Nada mas.
- It is cheap but hs all the lastest films so if you live near by then it's a definate yes.

- The empire, brilliant
- The Empire. It's small, but up-to-date and cheap, the only problem being its frequent lack of popcorn!!!
- The Empire, not the Odeon, but the comments about sound and picture are correct - avoid where possible until they get the projectionist some glasses, get anew projector bulb and/or lower the lighting level considerably
- Odeon. Sound and images tend to travel on seperate time lines
