The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call

You can tell us more about Hamstreet.

Pubs
  • update to info - stonebridge is shut - fleur de lis is shut - support your locals before they all go - get off this board and start living!
  • Used to love it when Old Schoolhouse was a wine bar as well as restaurant. Still there's 5 pubs within 2 miles of X-roads so not too bad!
  • The beauty of the Woolpack is that you can walk home across the fields. Further afield, the Fleur de Lis at Brenzett does a lovely pint of mild. Used to love it when the Old Schoolhouse was also a wine bar - two drinking establishments on opposite sides of the road - great!
  • The Duke's Head is very good for local leagues - pool, darts, quiz etc. I am not into football myself but you can guarantee the big matches will be shown. Don't think the Kings Head in Shadoxhurst is listed yet - you can bike it in 15 minutes.
  • The Kings Head in Shadoxhurst is only 4 miles away too.
  • Duke's Head - open all day, accomodation, juke box, darts, pool, big screen. Woolpack - 1 mile from crossroads - great food, mellow interior (dark wood and hops). Blue Anchor - 1.5 miles from Xroads - food, pool, light wooden interior. White Horse - 2 miles - food, pool, juke box, stone floor. World's Wonder - 2 miles, food pool, good name for a pub! Red Lion, Snargate (3.5 miles) - nowhere else like it, welcome to the 1920's - candlelit, real ale straight from the barrel, true locals. Stonebridge (Woodchurch) - 4 miles - quiet in the week, wild at weekends courtesy of great disco/karaoke. Black Rabbit, Aldington Frith - 5 miles, dark wood and hops, food, interesting locals, well, one in particular!
