• What's wrong with you people? Haslemere is lovely - ok its not really a young people's town, but Jesus would you really want it to be? Its safe, pretty and the perfect place to live - whichever part you live in...how many council estates do you know that have Hindhead Common on their doorstep? And what's all this about no transport...did you fail to spot the mainline station to Guildford and London?

• There is a gret tidy little scene in Haslemere, everybody knows each other, not that we don't like visitors!
• The best things in Haslemere are the people. Everyone knows everyone else and everyone's cool with each other. We all get on well. The older skaters look out for the beginners and help them to learn new tricks. Everybody respects everyone else.

• I can't understand why any of you complain. I moved here earlier in the year from Luton, Bedfordshire. I work in London, and Haslemere might not have huge amounts of nite-life but you're not that far away by Public Transport from London where there is everything you want to do. Haslemere is an excellent place for the DAYTIME!, wonderful air, superb countryside, you don't know how lucky you are. However, don't tell everyone - they'll all want to be here - so shhh!- okay. Believe if you had lived in Luton for twenty years (and I have some wonderful memories of Luton!) you would appreciate Haslemere - and I am NOT over 40!!
• The new proposed Leisure Centre with Swimming pool/squash courts/gym/ and cafe... Here by 96/97!
• As a resident, I would agree about the kebab van, but the best thing is the miles of open National Trust countryside, where you can walk uphill and down dale without seeing anyone for a long time.
• Can I recommend the Phoenix Badminton Club, which meets on Tuesday evenings in term time at the Royal Naval School, Farnham Lane? We are select group of fun players of more advanced years. New members welcome. Contact me on ianm@surreycc.gov.uk.
• I second the note about the countryside around Haslemere. Up on Marley Common you can find large areas of quiet woodland and heath land with a variety of wildlife including many birds, bats and deer. Also good for mushrooms at the right time of year...
• I'm told that Haslemere chainsaw shop is worth a visit!
• Other good things are having three curry houses within walking distance and good walking country.
