Cheap Food
- Chilli Nights offers up a better curry than Shahanaz opposite. For English fare, go to The Poacher's Pocket. The restaurant is small, but the food is always good.
- The kebab van! So good. Burger sauce please...
- Crown and Cushion again - go at lunchtimes for proper home cooked pub food - pie and mash etc
- French Restaurant at bottom of Weyhill is lovely - food of a really high standard.
- Maya's Nepalese has gone, new place called Chilli Night in its place.
- Shahanaz on Wey hill is good
ASK and Pizza Express on the High Streets
- Noone has ever mentioned the "Arcofelice" Italian restaurant.Well,if you have not eaten there you should give it a try. Very good food, good prices, relaxing surroundings and a friendly owner,Giuseppe, who is always there to please you. Just tell him that Elio from Texas sent you there and he will really put out the red carpet for you.
- Flutes Restaurant opened this summer. It's at 23-27 Lower Street and is highly recommended.
- The French brasserie "Ma Cuisine" on 84 Weyhill is really a restaurant I can recommend. Delicious French food, separate lunch menu and Ladies luch menu, nice wines and a good selection of Calvados for after dinner. Highly recommended and not very expensive.
- Haslemere Fish And Chip shop has to be close to being the best ever.
- Good range now - you have the newlt opened ASK italian restaurant, Pizza Express, a rather nice Nepalese, an Indian, a chinese, a french restaurant, pizza takeaway and a kebab van (which I would suggest you avoid like the plague!) Good food in haslemere now!!!
- If you like kebab, go to the van in Haslemere. It rules.
- I would recommend the deli on the High Street for interesting foodie items. Also on an eating theme the bakery (nearly opposite the Post Office) has opened a new cheese counter selling local cheeses.
- Darnley's Cafe at the top of the town is under new management, you can get a great home cooked (old fashoined) English mean in there at a reasonable price. I go their most days ! They also do not allow smoking which is a good thing. Harveys Butchers opposite the Post Office is excellent, they have a superb meat and deli counter and it is well worth a visit.
