Skateboarding Spots
  • Herons Skateboard Park
  • The steps at the Haslemere Hall are good. You have to watch out for the road but if it's quiet then you'll probably get some good tricks off them...
  • There is a skatepark at the local leisure centre, the Herons. Not too good, a flat bank, drivewy, 1/4 pipe and a grind box. very poorly surfaced as it used to be a tennis court. Shottermill School on Lion Lane. Steps and benches, but don't cause any damage because ther have been problems with skaters in the past. Watch out for my dad! If you're going to skate it then do it on a Sunday afternoon but certainly not on a weeknight because its a school (duh) Mini Ramp in camelsdale at the mini ramp nect to the BMX jumps, pretty good though quite fast. 5 set at Haslemere hall Scout hut has a frop off and ollie manual blocks. Majestic wine store opposite the scout hut has a nice drop off.
  • Odd binns in Wey Hill,Haslemere is cool. There's a big drop off about 3ft high. Good for flipping off. Shottermill Primary School is anothergood skate spot. We're actually not meant to skate there but you can't not skate in such a great place. I'd like to mention the skate park again here. Thanx to the council for finally getting it up and running, when is the Midhurst one going to be built, soon please.
  • You can hang out with the local skaters at the train station car park. We search for things to slide, grind, anything that's fun. Or look for Camelsdale recreation ground. On the far side, by the bike track, is an excellent mini-ramp, in good nick. Quite high, though. Be nice to the locals, though, as they may get a bit tetchy (us country kids, huh?). Rumours abound of a few more ramps nearby, but I'm not sure where. Ask the locals, or one of those tourist info places.
