My father was a civil engineer during the second world war and was seconded to the Coal board for a time responsible for digging open cast coal. I visited him acouple of times. I am now trying to find any details of the open cast mining carried out in the area at tha time. I do believe I have the right area and town. About 1967 I met a shy young girl in Stoke by Clare and later went to the local dance at haverhill to meet her.I remember we enjoyed a few dates touring in her Austin A40 before I had to leave the area.Whatever happend to Roslyn? it would be interesting to know.
