- The Fleece is by far the best pub in the village. Top ale, top food and top staff!
Bedrooms were immaculate!
- The Sun for good food, mountains of it!
- I have been talking to all the regulars and locals in THE FLEECE on main street and the genral impression is that your report is 15-20 years out of date !
The FLEECE is the most popular pub in Haworth. It boasts Timothy Taylors fine beers,a superb menu cooked by a fine chef in kitchens at the rear of the pub. It has a new dining area, roaring real coal fires in three rooms, accessible toilets and extremely friendly staff.
I've never stayed there, but I've spoken to a lot of tourists that have and they rate the accomodation highly.
So there you are ... The Fleece, a wonderful pub.
- Your comments about 'The Fleece' on Main Street need updating.
NEWLY RE-FURBISHED, The ONLY pub for 'locals', food kept away from the bar. The friendliest barstaff EVER.... and a wonderful pint ...EVERYTIME!!!
- The Old Silent Inn at Stanbury won the sunday times pub of the year! Great food, I have to say, and good value and service. The Landlord form there recently move to the Grouse at Oldfield, which also does top food, and best of all, Taylor's Beer!
The Dog and Gun at Oxenhope. Very Friendly and cosy.
- Loads, varying from typical Yorkshire boozers (the Royal Oak, opposite the station) to horrible Laura Ashley nightmares (the formerly characterful black bull)
The Fleece on the Mainstreet does Taylors beer, although the landlord has ruined the pubs atmosphere with a huge food dispensing machine right in the main bar. It also used to have real fires, and NOT BE FULL OF JUNIOR DRINKERS!
The Old Hall used to be atmosphere-free. It`s a former monastery and has about three ghosts and lots of legends told about the place. The brewery recently refurbished the place and it`s a lot more pleasant now.
