Trying to locate husband's brother, Peter Jeffery born around 1945 give or take a few years. Husband Ian Francis Jeffery (now Welch) born 1942 to mother Stella Florence Jeffery born 1908 in Wiltshire, father unknown. Peter was brought up in children's home, briefly returned to family (mother, brother and step father) in the late 1950s early 1960s, left home lost touch. Reply

Hello I know this is a sensitive subject, but I wondered if anyone could help me with information about the late Ian Brierley. I didn't know him very well but knew him to be a genuine and decent young man. Many years ago I spoke to him on the phone with a view to meeting up after a long time. You can imagine how I felt when I heard shortly afterwards that he had taken his own life. The poss ible reasons for his decision to do so have troubled me ever since. They had a newsagent/ tobacconist shop in Hedge End and they owned two houses. Their bungalow and orchard was in Butts Road(no longer exists--a housing estate was built on the land) and they also owned Cape Cottage on St John's Road. Hi, I am looking for information about Hedge End in 1801, My great great great grandfather Robert Burrows Pate is said to have been born there in 1801 and is said to be the son of a John Pate who was born in Moss End. I myself currently live in the state of Wyoming in the USA. I would be grateful for any help on this and the history of Hedge End and Moss End as I know next to nothing about Englan d or these area's in England, In my records Hedge End and Moss End are both listed as being in Lancashire but I am finding that is not the case. Any help would be appreciated. I did receive a e-mail from a priest there in Hedge End who said he didn't even know Hedge End existed in 1801. But I have seen where it did exist but was only a few cottages. There are maps which show the name Hedge End in 1759,1810 & 1826,you can view these maps on the web. Of course the name on maps may not denote a village (or small town as it is now) but a farm or the physical end of a notable hedge. If you would like more info please let me know.
