- Cafe Provencale on the corner at the end of Norwood road
- The cafe in Brockwell Park does a £3.50 breakie which you can take outside and feast on breathing in the cool fresh air of a spring afternoon whilst abusing your body with grease, meat and sugary tea. Also, Cafe Provincale's fishy rice thing is good and the place is a lot nicer and cosier than it looks on the outside some of the paintings in there are good and others are so bad that you can be entertained just by looking at them. The music's mellow n'all.
- A new bar / gallery has opened in Herne Hill that's worth checking out - Escape Bar & Art just opposite the station. Has great contemporary art that changes monthly and v good value food and is great for travellers as there is a free internet access site and broadband wireless network and comfy sofas and papers to relax with.
