The Worst Things
- Thugs and prone to flooding
- Nat West Towers is no more (good riddance to a gloomy bank) and has been replaced by a restaurant called Three Monkeys. Haven't been yet but apparently is pretty good - Asian 'fusion' cooking..whatever that is. Meat madras with artichokes or goats cheese I suppose. In recent years, thanks to the ridiculous cost of living in London, Herne Hill has mutated from a shabby Brixton/Dulwich halfway house into a kind of low-calerie Clapham - eg. restaurants, bistros, cafes, bars, wine bars, upholsterers, posh furniture/bathroom fixtures shops, and yet more places to eat/drink. Traffic was bad 10yrs ago but we've now inherited South West London's awe-inspiring traffic/parking problems - come visit around 3.45pm on a school day to witness this petrol-clogged apocalypse. This is largely caused by champagne-socialist mums in german estates driving an ego-fuelled 1/2 mile to pick up their fit and able 10-yr olds from Dulwich Hamlet Junior School. The streets between Herne Hill and ALL the Dulwich schools are pretty, tree-lined and SAFE avenues. Why don't these obnoxious brats walk home on them? Or maybe mum can drop her Marie Claire horoscope supplement and go meet the kids from school. ON FOOT.
- It is total shit.
- We are all being forced out as rents are going up.
