The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
  • You are fucking stupid
  • there are alot worst places on your own side of the water thank you very much.im refering to the comment on everton footballers only being able to afford terraced pads in toxteth.not mine mate.GROW UP!!!!this web site is full of it.added a bit more to heswall than what there really is havent you.
  • Yes Heswall is Merseyside and lets make it stay that way, although if you wanna be more near cheshire, move to Bromborough.
  • I spent my childhood in Heswall, from 1957 to 1965, and how it's changed - not for the better. All the amazing old shops have gone from Whitfield Buildings and been replaced by things like the inevitable Tandoori takeaway and a video hire joint. Old Roebuck's garage that was on the corner of Whitfield Lane has also gone, to be replaced with some awful imitation windmill. Poll Hill Common is all overgrown, and the view of the old water tower has been spoiled by an ugly mobile phone base-station (ah well, I suppose the ability to send endless trivial text messages is more important than the view). I see they've actually added a pavement on the Common side of Whitfield Lane. The old Whitfield Dairies (which also was a working pig farm) has gone, to be replaced with a school. The magnificent Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital has been demolished and replaced with of all things, a Tesco's. The Hospital was a really solid sandstone building. Surely they could have kept it and put it to some other use? And now they've even turned the Puddydale (or part of it) into a car park. Is nothing safe from the great four-wheeled god? However I'd love to come back - in clear weather I can just make out Poll Hill and the water tower from where I now live in Runcorn. Incidentally, Heswall (like the rest of the Wirral, was part of Cheshire until the Tories' gerrymandering in 1974. Wirral postcodes have been changed from Liverpool to Chester, could it be Wirral is slated for return to Cheshire?
  • A lot of snobbish residents in "West" Wirral like to think they are in Cheshire - which is incorret, yes, like it or not they are actually in Merseyside and will always be. So there.
  • Until I started riding my bike, I never realised just how many hills there were in Heswall. Anyone who thinks Heswall is fairly flat(as I did) should try riding a bike round there!
