- Regular meeting place for bike clubs, walkers, canoists, custom car cruisers, historical groups, wildlife watchers and photographers
- Its Northey Isand, not Romsey in front of the Basin and Osea Island (Still up for sale £5 Million!!!!) behind to the left.
- British record for a Sting Ray was caught by a bloke from the village, you can also see Seals and the occasional Dolphine off the Sea wall.
- Walk along the tow path of the canal all the way into Chelmsford: County town of that much maligned county - Essex.
- House prices are comparitively cheap with an excellent community spirit , neighbours actually know each other , Maldon & Heybridge have the lowest crime rates in England.
