Corner eateries, quick bites and the local chippy
You can tell us more about High Wycombe.
Cheap Food
- Pizza Go-Go. Very cheap there. You can get a small pizza with 3 toppings and a can of drink for £2. On Castle Street, a little down from Dominoes pizza actually.
- in the high st, there is a new 'baguette du jour', top place to eat watever baguettes you want
- NoodleBar - Behind macdonalds - £4-5 for a big plate of noodles/rice and varied meat, Service is v. quick. 2-3 minutes wait top for any food.
E.A.M.A.Y.L (eat.as.much.as.you.like) - Next to O'niels pubs, again behind macdonalds. It's an all day chinese buffet, £5 for lunch, more for evening buffet.
- Zen Zenni in Frogmore
- You've got Burger King, KFC, McDonalds (It's not got the uv - anti-skag head - lighting in the toilets a la Reading - but it's probably not far off...) There's also a small plague of other chicken places...Perfect Fried chicked, Southern fried chicken, unlucky fried kitten... (K maybe not but there's about a dozen KFC rip-offs out there. TFC's another - I think they just pick a letter at random and put fc on the end...)
- octagon cafe
- 3G KEBABS found along bridge street just off the oxford road (a40) opposite Blockbuster video. Fairly new to the game these young bucks make a tastey kebab, from your tradtional donner to their very own home made chicken shish and chicken tikka kebabs. They keep the van spotless and with its large serving area you can see right inside, so its not like your average kebabulance. They offer a 10% student discount and they also have a website which has picutres of their ever growing customer base. This one gets a thumbs up.
- Café Express upstairs in the Octagon Centre, High Wycombe. Best value breakfast in town, lots of choice, good quality. Cheaper than supermarkets. Tasty staff & has smoking area. We never go anywhere else cos the rest are C**P or expensive.
- Hot food now being served at The Downley Donkey pub www.downleydonkeypub.co.uk
- Chicken Cottage - juicy juicy chicken at such reasonable prices!
- Noodle Bar, Eamayl.
- I think people are being unfare about places to eat. I agree that High Wycombe does not have as many places as Reading or other large towns, but we always find great places to eat when friends and family come to visit eg, Eat Thai, Ask, Elachai, and pubs in surrounding villages and towns. Avoid pubs in town.
- maccy D's! orrr...spicy cuisine!! yum yum..its in frogmoore.
- subway, kfc, mcdonalds, burger king, greggs bakery
- KEBAB VANZ ON BRIDGE STREET MA MATES DAT OWN SHAMMYZ FRIEZ N ROYAL KEBAB ON GREEN STREET DENNISEZ IN TWN BY TIME MACCYDS. BURGER KINGZ SHIT NEVA GO DER SUBWAY IZ GUD 2.
- KEBAB VANZ DWN BRIDGE STREET I NO DA PPL
OH N DA TAKEAWAYZ SHAMMYZ FRIEZ N ROYAL KEBAB DWN GREEN ST I GET FREE BURGERZ HAHA
- has any1 else been to L'artista and been served by dat creepy guy that likes to kiss a lot. plus if they tell u you're beautiful don't take them to seriously (sure u r tho) they tell everybody that
- bbs is fantastic
- coffee cup. opp next. cheap sarnies and jackets freshly prepare jst the way u like
- Not many great restaurants in Wycombe, have the usual Pizza Express, Curry Centre and Italians etc, but if you fancy Chinese you have GOT to go to China City in Desborough road, much better than the posh chinese I went to in Bourne End a few weeks back. Paid £50 on a meal for 2 and the food didn;t even come close to the high standard of China City. Yep it's a take away (and delivers) but honestly, I'll never spend my money again in a restaurant when I can go there. The gent that owns the place and serves is great, a real laugh and his daughter who also serves is the friendliest person you'll ever meet. Also, THE best Italian in the World is Al Italia in Beaconsfield old town. It is a bit expensive but it's absolutley delicious. Try the Lasagne. Manager is lovely too :-)
- Dont go mcdonals ppl!!!
KFC
- It's gotta be the noodle bar, down the litlle alley way next to MacDonalds. Superb food, freshly prepared for you in double quick time. They've also got one of these in Aylesbury. Incidentally, they always allow me and my wife to take our three year old in there andf they even plate up her Macdonalds happy meal for her!
- The Noodle Bar, king of all restaurants in wycombe for those with shallow pockets. If you can afford it then Ask or Pizza Express are good places. Avoid Pizza Hut like the plague as there will be Kevs and Screaming Children in there.
- The Noodle Bar is probably the best, if you like chinese that is. Otherwise it'd have to be the KFC and Burger King
- maccy ds
- Cappricios at Hazlemere - second to none
- Yes we eat stuff in wycombe...but mainly in our houses or in other peoples towns.
- The noodle bar is superb. They let me take my three year old in there to eat her McShites happy meal, though they insist that they plate it for her (I don't blame them at all). Good food, realistically priced and on your table in a flash.
- Loads of asian takaways fronting for DRUG outlets
- Hussein'e kebab van after the 'lope or Spicy Cuisine after TIME, any other occassion and its KFC mos def bra!
- beer and burger at the fucking falcon tbh
- Check out the Noodle Bar....down the side of McSwineys, good, cheap, fast, smiley, and NOT crap McYuk burgers. Or Alexanders Fish and Chip Bar in Frogmore.....
- Wycombe is pretty bad when it comes to food...standard fare really, with McD, BK, KFC, Wimpy and several kebab houses. A few chinese and indians, but they are all very overpriced. TGI's is a good crack if there is a few people going, but again it is overpriced...
- Spicy cuisine all the way. It's gotta be done whilst staggering from either direction of public house establishments! (next to subway)
- Anong Thai on Desborough rd (opp Snooker hall Green St end)) great Thai food and not too expensive. Decor modern and light (nice ceiling lights) and a two course lunch for less than a fiver - can't go wrong. And they do a home delivery service :-)
- Mr India on the London Road - wonderful service, fantastic food!
- tennasee fried chicken to sober up with and they're open till the wee hours
- NOODLEBAR, yey
- TEFC, Crendon Street
- TEFC, Crendon Street
- WYCOMBE SUCKS AND I LIVE HERE!!!
- the litten tree does some good grub
- Ask best place in the Town Centre
- Eat at Noodle Bar, you wont be dissapointed, alternatively there is Peppers Indian restaurant in Frogmoor.
Try going further a field to beaconsfield, most of the restaurants there are ok.
- Don't eat here. Trust me
- no burger king in town!!
- Spicy, dennis', NoodLE Bar, China City, Burger king
- KFC, Maccy D's, burger king, wimpy, chippy, subway, greggs, costa, BB muffins, kebab shops......
- Best Takeaway "A&T's" Desborough Road
- Herbies pizza do the best pizza bread + pizza.
Little india Hazlemere crossroads for excellent curry.
Peking House (Totteridge road opposite Sword house) best Chinese takeaway.
- If you shout 'why you cook my dog' around the kebab vans they get very upset.
- The Ivory restaurant on London Rd serves some of the finest food from around the World i have ever tasted. This is a definite must if you're in search of an awesome meal with many culutural influences!! *****
- Peppers, near Frogmoor, for a good Indian meal - tho staff are a bit strange (don't think they like Aussie accents!?). Denis's Kebab Van on the high st. after the pub - very good pitta and chips , plus he gives away lollies. Not Dominos their service is slow and they can be rude... The Falcon does good food, and is quite cheap. Noodle Bar takes the cake tho, tres sophisticated for Wycombe!
- noodle bar is good, bridge street car park for kebabs.
- There's no where that sells English food, but there's some good Indian places, and at least 1 very good chinese on the High Road. Don't go to the one that's "All you can eat for £5" though. Dive.
- You've gotta try the 'burger source' from the kebab vans and in dennis's. No one quite knows what it it, but its gorgeous and can only be found in Wycombe. I've tried to get i in oher towns and just got odd looks.
- DONT EAT AT THE HOGSHEAD, FOOD NEVER ARRIVES, ITS ALL DEEP FAT FRIED AND IF ITS LATE THEY STARE BLANKLY AT YOU THEN THEY GET ABUSE FRM SUM1 ON THE WALKIE TALKIE WHO LIKES TO USE CUSS WORDS ALOT. DRINK THERE THO GREAT PLACE
- SUBWAY- cant beat a subway sandwhich, although some advice dont upset the door man, im now barred for my drunken behaviour....DAMN!
- Well it has too be Bridge Street!! the kebabs are really great and just over the road from Time!
- High wycombe is absoloulty shit for eating. Me and my mate have this problem every day. We have exhausted every possibility of eating somewhere decent in High Wycombe. We don't wanna eat in McDonalds or burger king. Everywhere else sells crap, over priced food. And the only half decent place is subway. But i'm sick of that now.
- Just want to say the Elaichi has gone down hill terribly (even thought they're at the top!). Used to be really great and intimate, now overbooked and service appalling. Food still good but service doesn't counteract this.
- MACCY D, Burger King, White Heart,...bla bla bla
- Noodle Bar..does the best mixed meat noodles EVER!
- only decent resturant in Wycombe is Capricios on Hazlemere cross roads. run by Italian family, great food and atmosphere
- If you are interested in your own spicy cooking food then there is no better place to go to than Haji Food Store, which is on Desborough Avenue opposite Auto Lex Centre where you will find all sorts of spices for your spicy cooking and also other general shopping items. They are open late till 9.30pm seven days a week.
Try your self in your own spicy cooking which is much cheaper than take aways and ready made junk food.
Surprisingly some of the spices and tropical vegetables are cheaper than the Supermarkets.
Give your self a try to spice up your life and taste buds
- maccyds.. also a great hangout place
- Ask for a decent meal, otherwise if you're pissed, it's kebab heaven.
- Noodle Bar - as already said Fab but busy weekends. Dont be suprised to get your food on the table b4 youve finished ordering it !!
- The Noodlebar down the side of McDonalds has really good food at cheap prices - cheaper than McDonalds and massive portions! The staff are sound and the decor is very modern and informal. Sometimes gets veryy. Looks a little out of place in Wycombe. Mixture of students and business types.
- For a wicked Indian take away, check out the Bilash Tandoori on Desborough Road. Want a good sit-down meal? Try the Elaichi Tandoori up at cressex - guys, if you take your bird there, the waiters will chuck in a free red rose and you can make it look like you planned it that way and it cost you an arm and a leg!
- mcDonalds. There literally is Nowhere else.
- leave the kababs.
- Bees knees sandwich bar
Mc donalds
- Restaurants? No way. This is Wycombe - we eat kebabs and curry. Decent Thai restaurant up at Flackwell Heath, otherwise, travel out for 'proper' restaurants.
- Food is good as long as it is edible, so dont go to any fast food places unless you wanna spew
- Tons just look around
- Cafe rouge - check out the starters menu, francescos, ASK and a FAB new noodle bar.
- All the curry restaurants in Wycombe are crap. The way they treat their clientele leaves a lot to be desired.(Especially if you are an asian customer they don't give a damn about you). Elaichi restaurant on the a4010 is a place full of racist thugs who dislike anybody asian and will be courteous only to whites.
- Mr India on the London road in Loudwater is nice, cosy, newish, friendly and very tasty and cheaper than many.
- Kebab vans - a plenty. Yes. Bridge Street is kebeb heaven
- A great selection. Even though I used to work there, a trip out towards Oxford can be recommended to go to the Studley Arms - top food at decent pub prices.
- Great Indian Restaurant called the Empire Of India, Great Food, Excellent Reviews.......check out now
- Sandwich bar near the little pepper pot is ace for Baguettes with gorgeous fillings but like everywhere else in Wyc quite hard on your pockets.
- Filling the Gap sandwich shop on the corner opposite the pepper pot is really nice and good value for money. Shuts at two though. Student discount available
- Dennis' (by Club Eden) for kebabs, the new ASK in the High Street for pizzas, and anywhere *but* High Wycombe for posh nosh!!
- I vote for Francesco's too- great place! (For those that have never discovered it, it's tucked down the alleyway between the flyover and the Octagon entrance).
Other nearby good food at The Three Horseshoes, on the old Marlow road, The Crown and The Red Lion at Penn, and the Royal Standard of England pub, near Beaconsfield.
- For food there is only ONE place to go....Francesco's!!! They do fantastic meals, have a bring-your-own-wine offer and will cater for many people. We occasionally book it out for 20+ people at Christmas...Ask for John or Vicky, they're the nicest staff :o)
- Indian, 2 Chinese, 2 Italian and fish n chips. All very overpriced as is obligotary in Little Chalfont. There is also a kebab van on the White Lion Road
- The usual BK and McD business, + a Pizza Express and chippies, all easy to find in the town centre.
