Places to go to see the latest releases

You can tell us more about High Wycombe.

Cinemas
  • wycombe now have 2 ive only been to the old one and its kinda shit but cheaper than the new one
  • "The Works" (formally UCI). Has around 6 screens and long(ish) hours. Normally 10:00 - 02:00 roughly (at a guess)
  • the film works
  • Wycombe six is part of the Empire Cinemas chain now. For booking call 08 714 714 714 or visit www.empirecinemas.co.uk
  • Wycombe cinema is okay. It's not an amazing experience but is fine if you just want to see the film then go. It's never had any HIV needle incidents that I know of which makes it a safer bet (from what I hear) than Reading, and more recently, Bracknell... Scary stuff.
  • cressex
  • UCI in the Cressex out-of-town complex. New cinema will be built in the Project Pheonix centre in the middle of town.
  • Uci filmworks, 6 screens of the same mainstream blockbusters you can find anywhere. They don't show enough smaller or arthouse films.
  • Big cinema by Handy cross rounndabout, but the place could do with a good clean as it is starting to get grubby!!!
  • The Film works up at handy cross. pretty good, but expensive. bring ur own drinks.
  • Filmworks
  • The filmworks - A good size cinema with all the latest films on show. with over 6 screens you can chill out with your mates. There is a sweet shop, a restaurant and a bar to acquire all your needs. It is worth the journey.. only 5 minutes from high wycombe
  • we have a newly refurbished cinema now! the best 1 is in Maidenhead tho thats close
  • High Wycombe.
  • The Film works cinema is quite nice once you've got in. Unfortunately, if your car is unavailable, you have to climb up a massive hill (marlow hill) to get there before discovering they don't believe your age WHEN ITS REAL and the tickets r too expensive and there's never any films on when you arrive. Planning needed.
  • yea uci its a bit better from last time i went still stupid!!! whys it gotta be up that gigantic hill thoguh, its out the way!!!
  • It's okay as long as you don't buy any food there. It's financial suicide.
  • UCI, c'est cool
  • Actually, since its gone from UCI to Filmworks UCI its gotten significantly better. It's a really nice cinema to go to now.
  • One...UCI...its rubbish called the Wycombe 6, ist a landmark people meet at but bnever go in.
  • there's only one! I prefer the odeon in aylesbury
  • Wycombe 6
  • filmworks..
  • I normally go to maidenhead to see films there, it's just a better cinema with more comfy seats.
  • THE cinema.....Film works. Near Asda. Small. Crap. Need i say more?
  • nice but cramped back row not big enough.
  • UCI or wycombe six as us youngsters remember it is very nice now. it should have a screen like maidenhead's expensive suite as well though. Otherwise odeon in aylesbury!!
  • Wycombe filmworks, near asda...
  • High Wycombe cinema is dirty, smelly and employs only people without a braincell, so if you went to a local school you might stand a chance of a job there
  • Since they redid the cinema it is much better - comfort wise - but the range of movies is still limited - better to go to London.
  • uci wycombe six
  • UCI at the top of the hill's OK, although they could show a more varied selection. Bowling for Columbine didn't get a single showing, where as Harry Potter 2 got shown on 3 screens for well over a month. Behave!
  • The cinema here is great, (well, I say "great", meaning average, meaning pretty damn poor, if you ask me) if the film you want to see is a Hollywood blockbuster, but don't expect to see any film with subtitles.
  • enormous recently renovated cinema
  • WYCOMBE 6
  • the filmworks (used to be wyc 6) is decent enough it has a bar now and ben n jerrys which is always appreciated.
  • the film works is actually pretty decent but its a shame its so far away. As part of the new pheonix project they're building a....wait for it...an 18 f***ing screen cinema. useful!!! we don't need 18 f***ing screens; the film works is empty enough as it is. As for other stuff, considering there is a district population of more than 200'000 its really rather surpring that no, theres no bowling, theres no ice rink, theres no quasar (apart from the remnants of what was quasar). No wonder theres so many youths festering around doing drugs.
  • Just been done up still expensive got 10 screens now and approx 10 seats in each screen
  • The 6 screen complex situated just off that lovely roundabout at cressex, If you want your car broken into or stolen, there are few better places than this in the Wycombe area.
  • it's the worst cinema- despite 6 screens none of the top films are shown
  • UCI dis place is quite eavy u kno it is bein all refurbished in2 stadium seating and puttin a bar etc in it booo i can get pissed up there now!i wud travel 2 cum ere
  • ok, JUST DONT EAT THE CHEESY NACHOS. Had a very unfortunate encounter...
  • My car got broken in to when i parked here but aside from that, its the best cinema for miles.
  • I go to reading to watch movie coz my mates live there and coz its so much better than the crappy wycombe.
  • There is 1 cinema in high-wycombe and it is the UCI,but it has 15 screens so it can hold alot of films and a lot of people.
  • Cinema is good {6 screens} but very expensive. Incase you dont know where it is, its next to that outskirts of town shopping centre, near the M40, next to the holmers farm estate {probably the reason for all the car break-ins - DONT PARK THERE OR YOUR CAR WILL BE BROKEN IN TO}
  • wycombe 'six' as it's called. it's expensive and far away enough from the town centre as to prevent a large townie population convergence. however, you'll always see the usual array of dickheads with their peroxide birds 'caning it' through the car park of a saturday night. well done lads....
  • no bowling, no quasar anymore but the cinema isn't too bad as long as you master handy cross roundabout.
  • Unless you are prepared to fork out £6 per view, i'd go elsewhere to watch the latest film.
  • Wyombe Shits (sorry; six) Actually is specially designed to send your arse to sleep as soon as possible.
  • wycombe 6. Tom hanks is always in at least 1 film. Nothing interesting.
  • uci-handy cross
  • Still unsafe to park at Wycombe 6, but then it's only been open 13 years, you can't rush things like security, can you? Heaving at the weekend.
  • UCI is the only one i can think of
  • UCI, althought they are expensive i dont know anothere cinema anyhow
  • UCI Cinema at the top of the hill - bad public transport so get a video out instead ( the blockbusters is good ! ) To be honest, with the special offers you can get on the Swan theatre its better to do a video / theatre combination in wycombe.
  • Wycombe Six Cinema at Handy Cross
  • UCI Wycombe Six - what can I say. A cinema.
  • Wycombe 6. Ok . Too pricey. Nice Ice cream though
  • Wycombe 6 - overpriced and damn uncomfortable. Longing for the Western Sector development and the new multiscreen cinema.
  • The Wycombe six is a damn fine cinema
  • uci by handy cross it has 10 screens but not many seats
  • Quasar has now shut. About time too.
  • UCI in cressex, really expensive, £5.90 on a normal night...ouch. Student discount monday to Thursday helps a little. Nice ice cream though and compfy seats.
  • The car park is attractive to local offenders, especially being so near the motorway for a quick escape...
  • The Cinema has 6 screens and a rather lovely ice-cream counter...but food is expensive (as always in cinemas). I've only ever seen one reel of tape snap mid-film so it can't be all that bad! (it was Titanic - just as everyone was dying...the tape snapped in the projection room!!)
  • Big cinema complex out of town, plus your usual bowling alleys and Quasar/Laser Quest things.
  • Wycombe six, dont take your car, it will have a scratch down the side by the time you come back
