Favourite Building in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire*

Art deco, contemporary, futuristic, tall, short...

You can tell us more about High Wycombe.

Favourite Building
  • the chair museum - if you walk around wycombe you will see a shit industrial town but if you enter the grounds of the chair museum you will see a beautiful flint cottage with an outstandingly amazing garden
  • The Bell Pub.
  • Pepper pot in the high street.
  • BCUC - It reminds me why I'm here. Whilst I loath it for the same reason, it also reminds me that I only have a few months left! Woo Hoo!!
  • Castlefield estate... i love it i run around it with my friends sprinckeling flower petals and froooots on its golden paved streets
  • They seem to be pulling down anything with any character at the moment, they call it progress!
  • The market place is nice.
  • DA OCTAGON I AF TA ADMIT
  • the church in hughenden is nice even if u ain't religious. it reminds me of nice insted of scabby wycombe
  • God, errrr The £1.00 shop near TIME

  • There all fuckin ugly, i tell u if ne famous person came to out town thered wanna turn right bk it looks like pikies hav taken over it is so trashy man!!!
  • The round house
  • The Green Hut on the Rye
  • None...
  • That little round market house. Pann Mill. My house.
  • The Antelope and Magnum
  • WYCOMBE SUCKS AND I LIVE HERE!!!
  • R.I.P Murry's, the Department Store, where a cockoo clock went up & down the stairwell as a counter balance to the lift.
  • Library Building.
  • Gotta be the bus station. Old, smelly but its the way out!
  • Fire Station. ohh those fine young firemen are tasty! lol!
  • The Guildhall & Cornmarket
  • The sainsbury car park - looks ace as visual
  • the swan
  • Boat house on the rye that serves excellent ice cream.
  • The buildings in this dilluded shit hole of a "town" emphasise only the crappiness in general.
  • godstowe prep and the cemetary (tho that ain't a building i know)
  • The golden ball, purely because of its history---HELLFIRE
  • wycombe museum is really pleasent, the grounds are nice in the summer. wst wycombe is also nice, the abby is also pleasing to the eye.
  • Stones Radio and TV store in Church St. I guess its all gone by now, but its where I met the girl of my dreams Jean Barney who worked in the almoners office at the Shire council in the mid 50's. Then I went to Australia and never saw her again. Sorry Jean if you should read this!
  • That little hut behind the Bus Station.
  • Guns & Ammo
  • Octagon
  • Hobgoblin....i can hear it calling me as we speak!!!!!!!!!!
  • Jubilee Road mosque has a certain Eastern charm i spose.
  • Well i think the council are actually making an effort to tart up the town centre, shame that this means they completely ingnore what state the rest of the town is in. A lot of the council estates in Wycombe are really old and were built in the 1920's and 1930's. This means that that they are litterally falling down as some of the residents just dont give a shit and they havent been done up since they were built. The same goes for the Victorian slums in Desborough etc.
  • The All Aaints church has are satanic altar behind it, we have done caarvings and writting from LaVey on the wall.
  • The Wycombe Swan
  • The JC building in Saunderton.
  • The mosque, the gurdwara and the central church are all nice buildings and represent the many different cultures of our town.
  • McDonalds. (BUILD THE DRIVE THROUGH!!!)
  • Adams Park (Home of WWFC)
  • Any architect with any imagination was hounded out of town in the '60's.
  • Well i cant think of one which isnt coverd in a thick layer of poo, so none of them (how can you have a favourite building?)
  • The library coz it has waaaay more charector than any other buildings in high wycombe.
  • There all covered in pigeon poo.
  • The chair museum.
  • The main church.
  • The Guildhall. Its soooooo beautiful. Aaah!
  • All Saints. Imposing and central to the town. As it should be. Top-notch bell-ringers too.
  • The millenium chair arch - - sorry, was it the millenium scaffold arch with chairs on it? Poooooooo!
  • The Pepperpot has always been a big favourite of mine.
  • The Chair Museum of course
  • BUS SATATION FOR ITS GAS CHAMBER APPEAL
  • West Wycombe Church (on the hill with gold ball on top)
  • Union Baptist Church on Easton Street, far too elegant for Wycombe
  • Has to be the Swan Theatre - very new. But the car park empties very slowly.
  • All Saints Parish Church - has the best pipe organ in the county, a three manual Willis.
  • The Market Hall and the Cornmarket. They give the impression to any daytripper to the town centre that High Wycombe is a nice old market town - it had me fooled when I came for an interview at Wycombe Hospital 9 years ago!!
  • The theatre.
  • The NatWest bank (next to the Hobgoblin) has a great fire-escape system out-back so you can actually climb right up onto the roof and drink beer whilst looking down on the High Street below and confusing passers-by by whistling at them.
  • Station as gets you out of Little Chalfont, on the underground and up to London.
  • The nurses accomodation buildings
