The Best Things in Hockley, Essex*

If you're around, be sure to check these things out

You can tell us more about Hockley.

The Best Things
  • us youths! don't forget we're the future generation so the worse you treat us the worse we'll treat you!the graffiti on the cricket hut representing our home town!
  • Hockley Charcoal Grill and the Spa. Good kebabs and a good pub.
  • it is a well off area and the best thing is knowing that i live there and that loads of people are trying to more to Hockley and cant becuase people dont want to move. the twon is not over run with loads of shops but a few more would be nice. most people seem to know each other.
  • Nuffink to do!!
  • The newly paved high street. The yellowness of the paving slabs is nicely offset by the tastefully places wads of chewing gum. The number 7 bus permenantly parket outside Alldays
  • Nice and friendly - I enjoy popping to the village to buy a paper! Far enough from Southend to pretend it isn't there!
  • Unlike other areas, Hockley doesn't have many of the tracksuit-wearing rudeboy types. There used to be a few, but the minority that do still exist are oppressed by pretty much everyone else (Ha Ha)!.. Hockley is far cooler than neighbouring places like Rayleigh.
  • Theres always a special needs child walking the town looking for people to play with, chip butties rule at broad parade, everyone dress's the same and all seem to copy this one bird, and ummmm the train stations good for skinnin up.

  • Crack freely available. Dealers on every street corner. Price is starting to come down you know. A crisp £20 note for a reasonable sized rock.
  • the only good thing about Hockley is that you really appreciate life and nice things....ONCE YOU LEAVE!!!! unfortunately, leaving is something that is frowned upon by the narrowminded inhabitants of this small village. and sorry if this comes as a shock to the people that i went to school with and are still there, but it is a tiny village, not, as many of you seemed to believe, some bustling hive of all things fashionable and cool. YOU GO TO TOTS AND ZEROS AND THINK THAT THERE IS NOTHING BETTER!!! YOU ARE ALL WRONG!! WRONG I TELL YOU!! leave hockley now! or, even better, if you can break the family tradition, leave essex! there are other places to buy clothes than pitsea market and topshop on southend highstreet. leave, travel the world and dont go back. also, try not to breed with other natives of hockley. just think of the children... (just like to add that Hockley is really quite a pretty place and has lots of lovely woodland areas. its just that the people let it down.)
  • Getting out the area and actually haveing a life!!
