- The brand new Travelodge opposite the Bus station and McDonalds is the best place to stay if you want to be close to the pubs and shops. Its town centre location is incredibly handy. However; the rooms are not designed very well at all. There is only one plug socket, and its on the other side of the room to the mirror so not at all practical for any discerning ladies who like to see what theyre doing to their hair whilst getting ready. One tiny table and a plastic chair make up the only place to sit other than the bed. There isnt really anywhere you can lay your stuff out as the table is cluttered with tea-making equipment and flyers for dominos deliverys. The bedside tables are only niches in the headboard so you have to keep things like water bottles, books on the floor if you dont want to get up through the night. I wouldnt plan on unpacking your suitcase either, there are 4 hangers attached to a pole...... Thats it!! No drawers, no other place to put anything except on that vast floor space. Also the windows have a lock which means they only open 2 inches (not brilliant in the summer, especially bad considering the rooms arent air conditioned). The bathrooms (shower only, no bath) are very small and claustrophobic, which is a shame considering the vast amounts of empty floor space in the room, they could have designed the bathrooms to be a little larger and still have had enough spare space to fit another 2 double beds in. If you are not a fan of waking up to the sun streaming into the room then its probably best for you to drape a thick towel over the window as the blinds keep nothing out. Be prepared to feel guilty for spilling something on the bed, all bedding is totally white (trust me to immediately drop my green eyeshadow and spend the next few days praying I didnt get charged for new sheets - luckily I didnt!!) There is no actual restaurant connected to the hotel but obviously being in the town centre there are many places to get food nearby such as Wimpey, McDonalds, Greggs etc if you like that sort of 'food'. The local wetherspoons The Lynd Cross is opposite the hotel too. On the other hand, The Station Premier Inn is a much better place to stay. Although its not in the centre of town (its only a 5 minute walk away), it is opposite the train station and has a nice Beefeater restaurant and pub attached to it. The rooms are large and although slightly tired decor-wise much more comfortable than the Travelodge. Bathrooms are a decent size and have a bath as well as a shower. There is a little 'sitting area' with two comfortable chairs and plenty of table space to scatter your various bits around. Bedding is clean and brightly coloured so you feel much more comfortable getting ready. There is an actual wardrobe and drawers for your clothes and real bedside tables that you can actually put stuff on. The window is small but opens fully and has curtains to keep the light out. Price-wise both of these hotels are conglomerates so prices are generally fixed and the best deals can be gotten by going online and booking in advance but expect to pay around £40-60 for a weeknight and around £60-90 for friday and saturday nights. Sundays seem to be the cheapest night to stay in both places.
- Just don't, it's too boring.
- YMCA have just opened in Horsham
- There's loads of B and Bs dotted around, but our last hotel got shut down. The Queens Head still takes ppl in i think.
