The Best Things in Horsham, West Sussex*

If you're around, be sure to check these things out

You can tell us more about Horsham.

The Best Things
  • Rolling Stones appearance at St Leonards Church Hall !
  • By day you can walk around without getting mugged (for the most part). Just don't expect the same treatment once the chavs come out at night.
  • The local band scene is great
  • Friendly, Market town.
  • collyers
  • shelleys my mum's arga
  • Pubs, colours(pool hall), its fairly safe, i swear it has it's own weather system!
  • Good balance for middle aged gits like me. Perhaps there are not enough pubs for the youth to fight in though. The park is excellent and, unlike most parks, has a good cafe, the leisure centre, a lake (small) for wildlife, a good skateboarding area and many more facilities. I hate parks that are just trees and grass!
  • Having just moved to Horsham from London I find the people extremely friendly and polite - even the teenagers! The pace of life is great and I love walking round the centre of town with no fast traffic to negotiate.
  • best things? well the best hing about horsham is knowing that it isnt the only place in the whole world
  • Since the sad demise of King & Barnes there are now three microbreweries operating from the industial units around the railyard. The Beer Station, Welton's and W.J.King (of the K&B dynasty) have saved Horsham from becoming a real ale desert. You can also get the real thing from Beer Essentials on East Street.
  • The park! loads of space to chill in the summer!
  • Err... there were a couple of pieces of ass once in the lynd, but then i was trolleyed so they were probably rough...
  • nothing (part from da drugs)
  • memories...
  • Its a pretty town with a good mixture of old and new. We still have the usual tat as well but a good selection of pubs and restaurants. Not really a young persons ideal.
  • my mates and its fairly clean and non-racist
  • local blues band 'say what'
  • Horsham is generaly a good natured town filled with a variety of oddballs and morons who don't really know any better because thier lives don't extend much beyond The Weatherspoons Pub and KFC. Apart from the occasional beatings from groups of fifteen year olds if ur in the wrong part of the park on a friday night and catch them swilling cider, Horsham's not so bad
  • the shops.
  • Ther aint many, but there are a couple of good pubs and dining places.........But my highlight of this lil ole town has to be Shamrock Alley, its opposite Jones shoe shop, just go down there for a jimmy riddle, you'll see what I mean!!
  • the flower arrangements that regularly win the "in bloom" contests
  • I think you should all stop complaining about Horsham. It is a brilliant place to live, and if you don't agree you have obviously lead a very sheltered life, and are not aware of the atyle of life in other towns in this country. To anyone who dislikes Horsham, I would say, spend some time away and then you will know how much you miss it and how great it really is!
  • Horsham is a beautiful Historical town with many lovely old buildings, and lots of character, but most of all - ITS NOT CRAWLEY...
  • More pubs per square mile than anywhere else in the UK. It actually has HISTORY, unlike some neighbouring..erherm...towns. Wimpy...u gotta love wimpy. Piries....the last beacon of hope in horsham....
  • Getting over 100% profit on my house after moving out of this dump 2 months ago (only purchased the house 5 years ago)
  • All the local sheep are trained in the art of pleasing a man!
  • The park in the summer
  • The prospect of leaving
  • IN RETAIL? NICOLE DEAN LINGERIE
  • Watching the fights develop in the Lynd Cross on a weekend... just so long as you don't make eye contact with the skinheads doing it!
  • The trains to London :)
  • Plenty of local farms so that you can practise snogging on the sheep
  • NOT ALL SHOPS IN TOWN HAVE CCTV SO QUITE GOOD FOR SHOPLIFTING
  • The road to Brighton/London/Anywhere but here (except Crawley, now that place is a dump)
  • The Pigs are sooo stupid!!
  • The A24 bypass - you do not have to go near the town.
  • The Fountain. It isn't Crawley!
  • receiving head from one of the corner street girls
  • Unfortunately, now sadly lost, but Horsham was home to a family run Brewery called King and Barnes which, in my opinion, produced some of the best ale found anywhere in the country. Since it's sale in April 2000, I have been drinking only Guinness (and lots of it) mainly because the new owner's beer is, again, in my opinion, crap. Long live the memory of King and Barnes.
  • Nothing.
  • WoodWorks a great wood and laminate flooring Co that also does timber decking 07970 324496 Much better than lam floors direct
  • The Causeway
  • Excellent place to raise Children. (If you want them to have a very limited perspective on life)
  • Easy pace, no major hassles
  • The Causeway, it never changes, but who took the teddies out of the windows?
  • Railway Station - for many people the only means of escape.
  • You're unlikely to get shot walking home at night!
  • Horsham Park has a huge & varied childrens play area, next to the swimming centre, which is well worth a visit if you have children.
