• i remeber growing up in houghton regis,thursday nights at the youth club in bedford square,with big joe who ran the place,we used to get a quid from our mums and go up stairs and buy mojo chews and kojack lollies ha ha ha,there always used to be a fight out side at the end,then we used to go into the squre itself and watch the glue sniffers.some nights we would have a walk down tithe farm road and quite a few times we saw some bloke dressed as a nurse pulling a toy dog that was funny and it sticks in my mind today.we used to hang about near the shops outside the harvest home and some times go to the subway near brandreth,noone liked going down the subway at night,no on your own anyway.everyone used to tell the kids that houghton manner was haunted so we always tried to get in to see if it was,we never did manage it though.the fair used to come every year it set up where the dolly mixture baston twirling team practiced what a bank holiday that used to be,because i never paid for anything my cousins dad used to work on there(smokey) i have moved away now and i have a very good career working in the oil industry all over the world
• I used to use Tithe Farm Recreation Ground in Tithe Farm Road.
• in bedford square with the BSN or Bedford square nutters as they like to be known. they sit round smoking illicit substances for fun. or you could try the big park in platters way was always a good haunt of mine.

• Houghton Regis is the posh sounding place that is not posh, Houghton Regis is otherwise known to locals as: ''Ayrrton Regis.'' Can anyone tell me if someone else has taken up Poacher's old place on the steps outside the electricity generator in Tythe Farm Road yet? Houghton Regis was the first place to test out electricity cards because most people never bothered to pay their lecci bills on time! By the way where did St Vincents Church disappear to out of Tythe Farm Road? Did the gippo's nick it and sell it for scrap? I hear that you have to wear a flak jacket to drink in the Harvest these days!

• HAMMERSMITH CLOSE IS A GREAT FOR HANGING ABOUT NO TRAFFIC PROPLEMS AND ITS JUST LIKE BROOKSIDE CLOSE WITH LOTS OF ACTION AND SCANDAL!
• Lots of parks, the bowling alley, 'The place' for kids and all sorts of other places (It's really quite big y'know.)
• i am 21 years old now and im a student in the states i grew up in houghton regis and i know every little crack and corner well i used too. the dog and duck is a great get together, i used to live in kirton way and i could spent hours in the fields behind us getting in all kinds of trouble our local store was what we called when we were kids was called the paki shop and we used to hang out at the subway with our skate boards. i used to go to houghton upper and last i heard was that they were getting ready to shut it down what a great shame.
