You can tell us more about Hoylake.

Cringing Cult of Celebrity
  • The Coral-local band who always have time for their Hoylake fans even when they're playing Glastonbury! Daniel Craig -actor in tomb raider and layer cake, possibly the next James Bond? ex of Kate Moss, used to grew up in Valenica Road Chris Boardman- dude on a bike. goes really fast Glenda Jackson- old school actress and politican Vikings (apparently)
  • Former 007, Roger Moore, apparently used to live down the West Kirby end of Meols Drive
  • The Coral!? Warrior used to live there, Chris Boardman
  • Local scalls made good - The Coral. Sea shanties and Russian Dancing, hmmmm! Album is bloody good and look out for a film crew near you when they start production of the eagerly awaited 'Lazy Rider'. A short film about Hoylake ostensibly in the style of ' Easy Rider' - but basically just the lads buggering around on some clapped out BMX bikes - Lord, who said Hoylake was boring?!
  • The Coral
  • S. Boardman the cyclist! hail!
  • A pedant writes: Morecombe and wise did not actually meet in Hoylake. However, morecombe won a talent contest in Hoylake . The first prize was an audition in the Jack Hylton show. ernie was already appearing in this show. That's how they met.
  • Chris Boardman during his olympic gold medal win in the 1992 olympics, held residence in a house in walker street.Glenda jackson also lived down Alderley road.
  • The Bird family of Hoylake provided the coxswain and crew members of the "Hoylake Lifeboat" for many years and possibly still do. Whilst Glenda Jackson may have become famous through the arts and laterly politics i dont think she did anything for the town which could rival the achievements of this local family some of whom are, or were, related to her
  • Glenda Jackson.....stan boardman er does he ride bikes?......
  • Glenda Jackson (Actress + MP)
  • Chris Boardman, Daniel Craig (actor), OMD blokes, Good old Glenda (she used to babysit for my dad, or so he reckons).
  • Sometime Oscar-winning actress and current Labour MP Glenda Jackson grew up in Hoylake. William Joyce, a.k.a. lord Haw-Haw, apparently lived in Stanley Road for a time. And it was from Hoylake that King Billy set sail for that little Irish-bashing exploit at the Battle of The Boyne. On a much happier note, it’s said that Morecambe met Wise right here in Hoylake.
  • Glena Jackson — perhaps the least said the better. It is alleged that Morecambe met Wise in Hoylake.
