Pubs
- Green lodge now newly refurbished offering great food and drink. the Lodge is now TWO For One on all main meals so its a great place to take the fsmily or just to go and chill out. the place has had a fantastic make over and the management and staff are top!!!
- most of the pubs are proper locals only places.pentagons on walls etc.etc.wetherspoons :full of people acting like its their first ever night out, bawling loudly at each other, singing rugger songs(depressing).most other bars overly trendy
- green lodge hotel under new management again!! but this manager seems to know his stuff and is really turnung it round. the place is gaining its old reputation back and looks brill!!! the place has been cleaned new kitchen staff food is great.
live music every sunday beer very crisp (lines must be getting cleaned)
the lodge is deffo worth re visiting - also having a full refurbishment in october
- where to start?! the anchor, plasterers, la bodega, lake and green lodge is favoured by a more mature crowd. spoons is held dear in everyone's heart, be they young or old, first stop at the weekend! the punch is slightly dodgy tho you can play pool there. children of the 80's have love for bar one (formerly arabesque), cuba and eskimo. R.I.P the firehouse
- The Lodge, Firehouse, La Bodega, Spoons-fresh faced, The Ship, The Punch-fresh faced, the anchor, the plasterers, the lake
- Well there are a few Wetherspoons is the most decent, the Punch Bowl is awful and as for the rest probably full of old peeps!
- The ship inn, the punch bowl, the green lodge, wetherspoons'hoylake lights',the lake, the anchor, the plasterers arms and la bodega.Hoylake has an abundance of pubs, unlike anything else.Everyone has their own local.
- The Lake, small, cosy, cottage like pub, Lake Place.
- Plasterers arms..good atmosphere good beer, one of the local gathering points
The green Lodge lovely on a summers eve to sit outside.....spent many a night there, good atmosphere etc etc
- The green lodge is rather good on a hot sunny day or eve spent lots of time there in the early 80's.....anyone remember the sports bar in the stanley hotel!!?
- The Ship used to be a good place for serious drinkers of serious beer - now it’s excellent. New management has radically improved the quality of the beer, and introduced a wider range of cask-conditioned ales. Currently on offer: Tetley (the Leeds variety), Wadworth 6X, Cains, Flowers IPA, Timothy Taylor’s Landlord, and Marston’s Pedigree. New arrivals expected soon - watch this space. And be sure to check out the Monday evening specials — an authentic Indian curry plus the pint of your choice, for under a fiver!
- The Ship Inn. Relaxed real ale pub, good food (but times are limited). Not yer average booze-it 'n' lose-it joint - a proper old fashioned pub for serioous drinkers who enjoy a bit of chat.
