  • its nickname. the hudd :)
  • The people...very friendly compared with bloody Londoners. I can say that as I am from Kent. People are not too bad where I am but Londoners don't even look you in the eye.
  • All the pubs, bars and clubs all within a ten mile radius of each other! No problem gettin a bit tipsy in Huddersfield!
  • Walking across the viaduct in Longwood
  • GREENHEAD PARK
  • the clubs all a step away from each other!!
  • Greenhead College - It was shown in the guardian that this college is the best in United Kingdom.
  • People are nice. The accent (well its nice to a Southern like me) The train station and libabry. Kingsgate shopping centre. Huddersfield Open Market.
  • As a student there for 3 years I had the best time of my life in Huddersfield. It has everything you need. I think it is the best place and would gladly go back to live there. The locals seem to hate students- never quite worked out why. But stick to the student hotspots and you will love it. Live at Storthes Hall if you can, it is set in such beautiful counrtyside, and a great community atmos. The storthes hall bus only takes 15 mins to town, and the drivers are legends. There is a good Indian restaurant opposite the uni. And also great the Da SAndro Italian restaurant. Also great closeness for shopping in Leeds.
  • Going to the Byram arcade on a saturday, buying a big bag o mushies, some blunts and then getting mashed up in the park. Shplendid. Mushrooms are great - and legal too!!
  • MAgic mushrooms for sale in the Byram Arcade. MArvelloush
  • t
  • sk8 park
  • Rail links are good. Trains go to Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, York, Newcastle...
  • RIVERSIDE STUDIOS EST 1981 OPENING SOON IN HUDDERSFIELD WEST YORKSHIRES NO.1 RECORDING & REHEARSAL FACILITIES
  • My Friends (miss you all loads)
  • its the cheapest night out in the world. ever.
  • The fact that I don't live there anymore.
  • Small shops in the Packhorse centre, queensgate market and other hidden streets...the range of things is impressive and the prices are seriously reasonable!
  • Clean Air & the views especially from Castle hill
  • Marsden is full of inbred pagans and satanists
  • As an occasional visitor to the area, staying with friends who are LOCAL PEOPLE in Slaithewaite, I think it's a fantastic place! Full of friendly folk and fantastic countryside, okay- I know I'm not there all the time, but I live in Manchester and the amount of crime you have to put up with there is crazy, think yourselves lucky!!
  • Huddersfield is the largest town in Europe, that's official.
  • Home Town.
  • hotchocolate with flake from blue rooms absynth from the camel the way it snows lots - sledging in clayton fields (edgerton) pony fields (paddock) or farmers fields (birkby) always good fun
  • that person who said that there are very nice irish ladies here in huddersfield was right as im female, live in huddersfield and im from northern ireland!!!!
  • the fact that you live in huddersfield and not halifax!
  • Empire Cinema, Brook Street.(Up the road from 2nd hand market).Mucky films plus a strip show every Sunday. Not Valued so much for it's erotic appeal as it's comedy value. Check it out when you want a giggle! ( Top Tip: Sit near the front, not in the back few rows )
  • Cheap taxis, takeaways, tarts.
  • The multi cultural people, despite what the students say about the local people they are genuinely freindly (if you think tykes are unfreindly try living in Edinburgh..) once you get to know them, just dont talk rubbish and you will get by fine.
  • there are some cracking views which may help aid your attemps of seduction - however the lucky lady may be. and Bar Non where Hard Times is based
  • VERY cosmopolitan - all nationalities and regions represented in a couple of bus queues.
  • Huddersfield just rocks. Go there.
  • If your house gets burgled then you can go and buy back most of your gear at the open air market. In reply to the t**t (whom I presume was a student) having a go at the local accent, its a damn site better than the indistinguishable Southern accents of alot of the student population in Huddersfield.
  • all the pubs at bottom end of Huddersfield town centre! there are 10 in a 20second walk!!
  • CLUB NON
  • the ladies
  • the countryside is only a mile away
  • Curries, late pubs, Greenhead (beautiful) park, Castle Hill and Heritage farm
  • Transport - the bus services are pretty good, even on Sundays and Huddersfield certainly does not lack taxi firms - try Bob's Taxis (town centre) or Mount Taxis (at Marsh). Organised amateur sport - be it football, rugby, cricket, bowls or snooker their is a huge number of organised amateur leagues to play in.
  • Cheap market, good looking fella's, cheap booze, not too far from big cities (leeds, manchester, sheffield)
  • I live here.
  • Laughing at how HTFC will never get into the Premiership.
  • Close proximity to big centres like Leeds and Manchester - Sheffield is only an hour away on the train. 40-odd pubs within the ring road - loads of pubs within staggering distance of each other at the bottom end of town. Marsh Liberal Club - the piss taking capital of England. The Casino where you can gamble away your hard earned cash.
  • Hills so steep you can get brake fade on a mountain bike if you go hard enough (Try Lockwood Scar - a 1.5 mile contiuous hill)
  • Storthes Hall coz we live there! Myers A 8 1999/2000 is the best flat in the whole of the village, and we rule the world! Why aye man! Its showbiz, we rate it, its the bollocks, its amazing and we all have good skills! We are not spackas like the Free Rent Boys downstairs in Flat 6!!!
  • The road to Barnsley and Penistone - better countryside and with it better pubs!
  • the close proximity to the beautiful wilderness of the pennines and the peak district
  • New Stadium
  • The best thing is that there's lots of room to skate about at most places, and you don't get kicked off a lot.
  • The BTCV office in Greenhead Park.
  • Everything: Footy team and all sports stuff University Basketball Team Clubs and pubs.... ...and the local women. It's bang in the middle of the country and its dead easy to get anywhere!!!
  • The road out.
  • The skateboarders are generally friendly, and there's only 'bout 20 of them- stay away from sean, kyle, vanessa, and ian
