- 88 noodle bar cross church st - open all hours, they work really hard.
Bogles Caribben Cafe on Bradford Road - Dead Cheap, best ackee & salt fish east of the pennines
- sainsburys.
- I know a great chippy on Carr Street in Marsh called Corner Fisheries!!. Their fish, chips and mushy peas are great !!! TOP NOSH 10/10 :-)
- jumbo - all u can eat chinese buffet, think it's £5-6 each
- hfc near greenhead park
- SUBWAY!!!!!!!
- The Briarcourt hotel has the best Italian restaurant. The lasagne and atmosphere is excellent.
- Unbelievable. Not one person has mentioned, so far, the best chippy in Hudds; Trinity Street Fisheries, on Trinity Street, just past the technical college. Class: great fish and chips for 3 quid odd. at lunch time you can get a can of coke thrown in for free. crackin'!
- the raj in milnesbrifge/golcar and jumbos in town
- Did somebody mention Frankie & Benny's? Bad move. They changed management and became a bit, well: rubbish. Chicken that makes cardboard look moist was the last thing I ate there - and believe me: it will be. Tumbleweed running through the place and a general air of malaise. Grim.
- The guy who owned Holmfirth curry house was chopped up by mobsters (really!!!). These days it costs and arm and a leg to eat there.
- Mc Donalds do the best milkshake in the whole wide world, chocolate of corse. And wen u've got ur choc milkshake u go on up to greenhead park and watch the fun!!!!
- sizzlers. unmissible. also get a vindaloo form planet spice, itll hurt in the morning.
- Frankie and Benny's is a great place...good food (bit pricey) but worth it just for the music...good ol' Blue Eyes
- Go to the Shama Balti on Bradford Rd for the best curry in town. Good friendly staff and top notch curry washed down with superb Cobra Lager!
- the Blue rooms Byram arcade
- Vegetarian options: Nawaz takaway in Marsh does very good takeaway curries (will also make you whatever you want if it's not on the menu). The Serena restaurant in town does good, medium priced curries but has little atmosphere. Thai Charleda has quite a few veggie options as does the China Forum in Milnsbridge. Both medium priced and nice places. Laxmi (Berry Brow) does very good curries. Nice atmosphere but food tends to be a little warm!
- best takeaways gota b kfc and of course BOMBAY in milnsbridge even if its a dirty shit hole it stil taste gud!
- As per the usual maccy d's and B K, we have some lovely cafe's hidden away.
Inside the Byram arcade is a little cafe called the blue rooms. Its very sweet inside, is only vegetarian/vegan but is lush. Especially the half french bread with melted mozzarella. This is only 3 quid with a cup of tea....
Would really recomend this cafe
- pizza house or abduls for take away curry.mexican try gringos nice! or nawaab for nice curry.
- blue rooms - yum yummy in my tummy, veggie and vegan delights
- The Blue Rooms:
great food and atmosphere and the owner is really cool.
- Centros on Northumberland Street for cheesey chips at 3am. Varsity do lovely food if you can stomach the students staring at a hot meal that's not a pot noodle.
- Rat and Parrot is great even though they don't serve guacamole anymore, but Varsity is better for the students wallet.
- I'm not one to go ape over pub food, but the BEST in the country is served at The Fleece in Lindley (just don't talk to the staff if you can help it or you'll be asleep before your grub's ready!!)
- Bombay Tandoori, Milnsbridge. Best in Huddersfield by far and also amonget the cheapest. Small and popular - Booking essential at weekends. Service can be off-hand.
- Palace Tandoori in Denby Dale. Excellent food, value for money, bring your own drinks.
- Cafe Lazeez at Aspley owned by the runner up of curry chef of the year (he woz robbed) first class asian food cooked just as you like it
- Nawaab for a curry. Bar Non for nicer than you think food (and not pissy portions). Head of Steam for gigantic home made burgers. Medina Bismillah in Fartown for the best Take-away curries and UFO sized Naan breads in the world.
- no where worth eating in really, apart from the spinks nest (birkby) does really nice food in there!
- Go to Marsh, its takeaway city. There are numerous curry houses, pizza and Chinese takeaways and loads of chippies. Also check out the Marsh House - two meals for a fiver.
- Nawaz Asian take away at Marsh is superb. Other recommended Asian restaurants and take aways: Kabana (bottom of Trinity St), Bombay (Milnsbridge), Sherry Punjab (town centre).
- The Fish Lodge in Milnsbridge is probably the best chippie in the Huddersfield area (and it does Pukka Pies too). No decent chippie in the town centre though.
Try Ali Baba on Wakefield Road near Glynn Webbs for decent kebabs
- Absolutely the worst pizza place in the world is First Pizza North Road Kirkburton. Obviously called First Pizza because you'd never have a second one. To be avoided at all cost.
El Toro Spanish restaurant in centre of Huddersfield is to be reccomended. Good food and not too expensive.
- For a grown up restaurant try the 3 Acres, near Emley/Shelley
Haven't found decent fish and chips yet.
Excellent Indian restaurant/take away in Milnsbridge
- pizza place takeaway at fartown bar junction (on bradford road). best pizzas in
the country.
- There's a cybercafe with three internet terminals, and some great food and booze at the Kiklees Media Centre in Northumberland Street.
- Standard number of fast food places - BK, MaccaD's, Pizza Hut Plus other nice eateries such as Frankie and Bennys, Sole Mio Italian Restaurant, Shabab, Sheri-Punjab and Nawaab curry houses (Shabab being superb)
- Window on the World cyber bar in the Media Centre on Northumberland Street is easily the best cafe bar in town.
- Macdonalds, Burger King, Wimpy, KFC, Pizza Hut, Greggs, Blimpy..... NEED I GO ON!
- Centros (round the corner from the train station)- pizza, kebabs etc
