Favourite Building in Huyton, Merseyside*
Art deco, contemporary, futuristic, tall, short...
You can tell us more about Huyton.
Favourite Building
- Mayfair Cinema (Now Boots) - oldest building left in Huyton Village
- The Bluey
- The 1960's building facing the church - beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
- New Asda Walmart.
- liver
- not many good ones left nowadays!
- Erm me house
- The Blubell pub
- Mick's church or the new library
- Not much left in Huyton - but Huyton Hey house is the oldest, apart from St Michael - Linda Miller and I used to "play" there. Wish I'd seen Woolfall hall - or "the White House" as it used to be know.
- My favorite building in huyton has to be st michaels church my daughter was christened there, it stands on the top of a hill guarding our town.
- The new library is nice but a waste of money as not many people from Huyton actually a) use it or b) know where it is
- Unfortunately Knowsley Council have Killed them all.
- My house on tarbock road
- My house on Tarbock Road
- the housing in the orchard
and the parish church
- the square thing that reads "fat dean, he's green!" scrawled in paint or somethin.
- Appart from our house, ST Mick's as it is know locally.
- old library
- The College and the Train Station are really nice, the buildings around the old college are real class, St Micheals Church is really nice
- St Michaels Church. This church dates back to 1189. I attended the village school and we use to go to the church every Wednesday morning.
- Much of Huyton was flattened in the 60s. A lot of 18th Century houses were downed when ASDA came along. Sir Thomas Beecham's old place, the Edenhurst still exists, and is a hotel and eting place. For me, probably the most interesting house in Huyton Hey cottage, reported to be haunted, which dates from qround 1600.
Woolfall hall was demolished in the 50s. This is something which should have been kept. Seth Powell has a lot to answer for.
