Live Music Venues
  • Wes Paul is still recorded as organising The Sounds of the Sixties at Huyton Conservative Club, However, that's not strictly true as Wes Paul is now the Production manager/Presenter at The Sounds of the Sixties Cavern Showcase in The Cavern - Mathew Street - Every Sunday night only £1.00 entrance - Usually 5 Bands on - Starts at 8:00 p.m. and Finishes at 12:30... Watch out for Sunday 21st January - Wes Paul is hosting the Cavern Showcase (Cavern 50th Anniversary) he will be scheduling about 14 bands on both stages of the Cavern the show will run until 2:00 am.m Mondday Morning -- Not to be missed and only £2.00 only for a magnificent night!
  • Any suggestions? I would love to turn Huyton from this sleepy town into somewhere that people know. Wake everyone up. If a good music event was set up, organising band nights, good music, etc, etc would you go? I'm asking your advice here?!
  • Huyton Suite
  • An organisation called 'Sounds of The Sixties' set by musicians who played alongside 'The Beatles' to help musicians who fall on hard times, now holds a Jam Session every Wednesday Night at 'The Huyton Conservative Club' in Tarbock Road (The Park). The entry fee is only £1.00 and the booze is reasonably priced. Many of the top groups from the Merseybeat era attend and play on a regular basis - these include 'Kingsize Taylor and The Dominoes', 'The Undertakers', 'Faron's Flamingo's', 'River City Rock'-(Ex Mojo Nick Crouch), 'The Delrenas', 'The Black Knights', Lee Curtis and many more... The night is compered by 'Wes Paul' on behalf of the patrons - Kingsize Taylor and his wife Marga... This is without a doubt the BEST value for music venue in Merseyside. These guys also hold regular concerts throughout the City, in venues frequented in the 60s... The next major concert is to be held at 'The Cavern' on 17th April (2004) further details can be obtained at www.lesbeat.co.uk, www.liverpoolhome.com and eurorock.co.uk...
  • The Huyton Suite has band nights every couple of months. Me band is playin the next one.
  • Joking aren't ya
  • NO venues here
  • go to city centre
  • There's the "frenzy", which is generally a plan devised by egg head coucil type people to give otherwise trouble making teeny boppers a place to, well, bop. Mindmelting commercial crap a plenty here.
  • The Hillside still has bands I beleive and so do most of the pub's mind you Huyton is Full of Good Bands anyway, so learn the tamborine and you could join one of Them
