You can tell us more about Ipswich.

Arts, crafts and such
  • Did snobby blond Louise from Felixtowe get introduced to her merchant banker, her Chief exec, her managing director, through her sidekick of Amberstone books,Murray road infamy.SNOBBY,TOFFEE NOSED.She claimed she was not interested in men BUT of course a cissy,Oxford graduate, lib dem AGNOSTIC-just her cup of tea apart so called "sloane rangers"
  • The Basement Gallery - a new photography and digital art gallery at 11 Elm Street and 12-14 Princes Street
  • Christchurch Mansion ain't bad.
  • Brook Craft Market just down the road from McDonalds!!
  • I wish we had a decent art gallery in Ippo- but alas, we do not...
  • The purple shop is hardly inconspicuous being a shop painted purple on the corner of a road but it is small and full of al sorts of interesting things. There is also Evolution and one opposite which i cant remember the name of. Also for those with a little local knowlege down the steet leading from Macdonnalds to BHS is BCM (Brook Craft Market) a fav of mine since being a kid full of loads crafty stuff and nice gifts.
  • For good galleries try Christchurch mansion. sometimes in tourist info...also suffolk college sometimes has exhibitions
  • There are some pretty paintings on the wall of Vagabonds cafe... but don't come to Ipswich expecting 'culture'. We're too backward for any of that. We don't even have a Starbucks yet.
  • BCM sells craft stuff. So does the range but thats outta town. The college has an art department? The corn exchange has the odd art show. Not a lot goes on here tho.
  • Brook Craft Market rocks!!!!
  • Nancys tinkering shop on old crump road
  • the town is full of little gallery's and art shops just come in and walk around.
  • Haste Gallery
  • Foxgloves - 63 St Matthews Street - Wide range of dolls houses, dolls, bears, tin plate toys, models and gifts etc
  • For this kind of thing you should go to Woodbridge really. It's not far from Ipswich and it's much better and interesting for kraft and these kinds of things. The city is quite pretty and small as well, but really quiet. It's good when it's sunny and only half an hour from Ipswich by bus.
  • Sacred Earth, Orwell Street - great little shop for Pagan supplies.
  • The Purple Shop is about the only place otherwise forget it and go to Colchester.
  • There is a really good craft market (BCS - British Craft Market) in The Walk in the centre of town. It holds everything you need from Candle making to do it yourself Xmas crackers etc
