- the castlebay bar kicks ass in the summer, especially over BarraLive weekend. non stop partying from the friday before till the monday after. Us locals can sure drink! The vatersay Boys are the resident band and once they start playing you can guarantee that it wont take long for you to be swept up to dance. Craigard also have residents Superglue playing the majority of the summer as well as importing some very good mainland bands.
- Barra is (according to the Daily Record) the booziest place in Scotland. Read what you want into that.
- Try the Castle Bay Hotel for a lively time, went there in July when there was a music festival on...Open 24 hours...what an eye opener as was expecting a quiet island!
