- Despite being the capitol of Jersey, St.Helier doesn't have too many buildings that are particularly important. At a distance stretch i'd say the old Jersey College for Girls building on the outskirt of St.H is probably the most significant, as it's going 106 years of educational history, boasts one of the best educational institues in the British Isles and during the war was used as a Red Cross building (you can still see where the red cross was painted on the front of the building). The tragedy is that now the school has moved sites (after so many years the building wasn't up to standard anymore), the chavvy youngsters see fit to vandalise it. Even though it's a grade2 listed building, no one really knows what to do with it, so it's being left to ruin slowly. But that aside, historically this is one of the most important sites on the island.
