  • St.Helier has a surprisingly good amount of live band venues with the most popular being Chambers. A bar and restaurant during the day, transformed into one of the busiest bars at night. They have live music most nights of the weeks and on friday-monday it is the most popular place to be! They occassionally get live acts in from the UK but predominatly the acts are local Jersey bands chosen for their talent. Bridge Bar at the Weighrbidge also boasts live music but it tends to be mostly accoustic, so if you're in the mood for that then this is the place for you. If Jazz, blues and Soul is more you're style, then the Blue Note Bar is for you. An elegant bar downstaires with a live lounge upstaires, this is the sort of place you go to after work to unwind with a scotch while listning to some of the best jazz the island has to offer. Located right in the middle of the high street (King Street). The Live Lounge (next to St.James Wine Bar) is also good for live music and is more aimed at the punk/rock lovers. Most bands worth their salt in Jersey have played at Live Lounge at one time or another. With the main bar downstaires with the pool tables, tvs and sofas, Live Lounge has had a total over-haul in recent years, but the music has remained. Not recommended for people with a low tolerance to loud music, however! The music room tends to get crowded, hot and very, very, very loud, so beware! Out of these I would recommend Chambers as the best for atmosphere, look and music.
  • The Royal Yacht has started having live music now its open again
  • Moody Blues and blue note often have gigs...and Q bar!!!!!!
  • Jersey Live Festival was launched in Sept 04 at the Royal Jersey Showgrounds in Trinity, Jersey. Bands that appeared included The Thrills, Razorlight, Delays, The Subways & The Open.
  • Blue Note Bar, Sounds Workshop
  • Chambers has to be the place to be if you like live music. I would rather go and see a good live band than dance to a talentless DJ any night of the week and Jesey now has some fantastic live acts. Suzy's field are one of the local young bands to play regularly at this venue however there are several other increadible bands playing at this top venue and it doesn't cost you anything to get in!!! It boasts the longest bar on the islands as well so what more could you want?! St. Ouens 5 mile bay also has a live venue in the form of the Surf shack half way down (just follow the surfer dudes!!!!!!) Sunday afternoons and evenings everyone gets together to sup a few tinnies and get some live music going as the sun sets leaving you with a memorable lasting impression of what the island has to offer.
  • Sounds workshop live room and St James centre are both cool!
  • we dont often get bands over here, oh, wait, status quo came over and charged £30 a ticket... for the youth: there are quite a few local punk gigs going on with bands like bullet proof and wilmor that gets the mosh pit going, dont go if you are a townie or we'll kick u in!
  • Great western ripped out and revamped now called "the bridge" (located at the weighbridge)very popular with students and STS (scandinavian travel school)otherwise known as young swedish blondes.
  • Decent bands usually play at The Great Western and guest DJ's frequent The Venue and Vespas, all of which are in town. To the east of the island , bands usually play at the Tipsy Toad Star at St. Peters and at the Watersplash on St. Ouens bay.
