General: Rooks Restaurant (part of Hotel La Tour) - in Rue de Croquet [High Street] - is now called Zest, after a change of ownership. Le Cafe (next door to Shapla) - is now "Blue Fish 2" OPening hours limited. Portugese: Cassiano , Portofino : now gone
  • Shapla - gorgeous Indian restaurant in St Aubin. Jambo's - best Chinese on the Island. El Poste - best food and service in St Helier. The Buddha Bar - always good on combos etc, in St Helier. Les Charriere's - St Peter's for buffets and out of the way hotelfood. Blue Fish - St Helier / St Aubin for everything, mad staff with bright orange hair from time to time.
  • OLD COURT HOUST - Fruit De Mer is especially good. If you like your crabs and lobsters this is the place
  • Portugese: Cassiano (have visited - good value, not too pricy), Portofino (similar to Cassiano)
  • Indian: Shapla - well worth a visit. In the Good Curry Guide, and I can see why. Good quality, lower floor has a 'conservatory' type atmosphere
  • Greek flavour: Le Cafe (next door to Shapla) - good value seafood dishes & snacks
  • French: Ker Francois - bottom of the High Street and turn right, towards the C of E Church
  • General: Rooks Restaurant (part of Hotel La Tour - in Rue de Croquet [High Street] - is excellent. Decor is 'suit of armour', quarry tiled floor. Well worth a visit, but you'll have to book. Harbour View - Italian / French influence. Great salads. Well worth a visit. Bon Viveur - good value, but nothing startling.
  • Tea Shops: Patichie (I forget the correct spelling) - at the bottom of the High Street. Panorama - on the front, near the Shapla Indian restaurant. It is also a Guest House.
  • Beach cafe: Colette's Cabin. Angelina's (on the beach - Bel Croute - going round towards the Fort) - always friendly and good value. Sugar Basin (further along the bay towards St. Helier)
