Cheap Food

- Paula Giannis Italian. 5.30-6.30 Happy Hour £3.25 a meal
- The chinese opposite ares have very friendly staff, and it's quite cheap. There is a macdonalds, which is often...no...always full of chavs, and a KFC which is much nicer, in my opinion. The british raj is a nice indian takeaway which is opposite the parish church.

- Subway, Mcdonalds, KFC
- The Union Jack Cafe in Kirland, excellent food and reasonable prices (licensed).
Finkles Cafe in Finkle Street, superb homemade food and not too expensive (the cheese burgers are amazing!).
- The Union Jack in Kirkland is great for good, cheap grub. Veggie friendly too!
- Well if you're stumbling out of Passions at 2:00 in the morning and feeling a little peckish, theres a hatch round the corner that sells curly fries and burgers. But Im always drunk when I go there, so Im not actually sure how cheap it is.
- Best take away in the world from "sizzle in" for a bit of grease. Or theres a maccys n kfc in chineses n indians and i believe a thai take out place
- Cherry Tree restaurant on Finkle Street.
- Cherry Tree restaurant on Finkle Street.
- McDonalds - good burgers, KFC - the crispy strips meals are lovely, and if you're more sophisticated then try Paulo Gianni's Restaurant - it's the only place in town worth the effort.
- Food in Kendal is nothing without mentioning "Harrys Pantry" on Shap Road (A6 North out of Kendal.
This little establishment is straight out of the seventies. Complete with fake wood panelling and
hand written menu's, I can personally vouch that this place has not changed in the last 20 years. The menu is
the same. It's main line is pies. The quality of these can vary wildly from day to day. The "Cheese 'n' onion"
being the best you can buy, but watch out for Fridays left overs on a Monday morning. One should keep a packet
of rennies handy also. Sandwiches are also sold with the laughingly "Crusty" baguette, which always seems to
be chewy and fresh last week. Cakes are a small salvation. Tins of Heinz soup and peas can also be bought from
the rickety shelf just as you enter the shop. Never ask for the "Chicken and mushroom" pie though, as even as it has been on the menu
for five years, it is never available. So, for a blast of seventies nostalgia, try harrys pantry. It really does have to be seen to be
believed.

- Blue Moon is stylish.
- Pearl Takeaway on Hallgarth is the best Chinese takeaway in Kendal
- Watch out in Macdonalds because they threw us out and all we were doing was clapping at someone who was dancing in the playroom!
- Geno's is by far the greatest take away in Kendal. Don't bother with anywhere else.
