Skateboarding Spots
- Stuff skateboards. What you need to do is unicycling. It is possible, just. But hard on the old anatomy, if a bloke ! A shop up in Southgate called 'Skate Attack' has tons of equipment, and a very knowledgeable owner. He has details of local 'Unicycle Hockey' matches. A bit of a challenge, that ?
- Kennington Park - nice reservoir, Kennington Old Boys Rip!! Large banked concrete resevoir. Park opening hours only. Same construction as Meanwhile II. Has a dedicated band of veteran enthusiasts, but is deserted a lot of the time. What a waste.
- If you're in the area, check out the Stockwell Road park in Brixton as well. You can skate there. Look for road at the other end of Kennington Park heading for Brixton (not Camberwell, not Stockwell. It will also be sign-posted for A23 Brighton). Head down there for a mile or so until you find yourself coming into another town centre. There'll be a police station on your left. Turn right (against the flow of the one-way traffic system) and you should see a low brick wall. The park's behind there: very exposed open to the traffic, people in the busses get a grandstand view. (If you find yourself wandering into a housing estate, you've got it wrong. Very wrong. Get out of there, it's not a good place to be.)
