- No decent clothes shops at all to get anything decent you either have to travel to Carlisle or Newcastle
- Winwood Outdoor - a new shop in Museum square, great independent shop, you are served by the owner who is really helpful and will discount if you ask. Great range of outdoor wear, well worth a visit.
- carlisle although they are starting to get some good ones
- My faves were The Sick & the Wrong and Blacks and the Army surplus place when it WAS an army surplus store!
- Amid the plethora of outdoor shops, Rathbones is the best by far. Helpful, friendly and well-informed staff. And yes, the family who run the business are related to Basil Rathbone. They have photos to prove it.
- Every other fecking shop is a hiking shop with about 10 more under development.
- Benetton is the only clothes shop in keswick, its brilliant, the staff are all stunning!!!
- The Sick and the Wrong - Cool surf shop - main street. Tell them matt sent you :)
