Hello Ron, Your grandmother Maude(in my records Mary Ellen)and my grandfather George Ladyman were brother and sister. In the 1901 census there mother Isabella was living in Keswick with her mother Mary Ann and your grandmother Maude.(my grandfather George had passed away) I have been unable to trace Isabella since then. It would be great if you help me. Thanks.

Hi. My name is Ron. Ladyman, Davis.
To all those interested in the Ladyman’s of Keswick Cumbria and who
responded to my original query regards the Ladyman family.
My original message was as follows:-
I am trying to trace anyone from the Keswick and surrounding area who know the whereabouts of any surviving members of the Ladyman family.
My father, who is now passed away was Sidney Ladyman Davis. My grandmother was Maude Ladyman Davis, my grandfather was Walter Davis. All resided in Keswick/Cumbria around 1920 circa.
I have been out of the loop since I first posted the above message and wish to thank those who responded.
The following are copies of the answers which my first message generated.

Hi Pamela. Just read your comments on knowhere guide. My great grandmother was Isabella whose death I have been searching for ages. She was the daughter of John Ladyman of Keswick and her son George was my dad's father. I have plenty of info on the Ladyman family which I am glad to exchange, but it is Isabella herself who is my main problem. Kind regards Margaret.

| what become of Greta Edmondson

by Wendy (Member 10083752) on 24-Jan-2006

Hi,
I am not sure if I have been pinpointed to the right place but i am trying to find some info on my stepfather's mother, her name was/is Greta Edmondson born about March 1909, we think in the Barow-in-furness area of Cumbria/Lancashire, she married a Harold Whittall and they had two children, a boy & a girl, the boy is my stepfather also called Harold, well Greta & Harold divorced when my stepfather was 4 years old, he & his sister was brought up by their father Harold and an aunt, and they never saw or heard from their mother Greta again, my stepfather is in his 70's now and obviously realises that his mother may no longer be around, but he really would like to try to fill in some of the empty gaps, he wants to know what become of her over the years, she may even have married again, he thinks that she may have moved to the London area, possibly had more children, if anybody can help to fill in some of the missing years of Greta Edomdson for her son, it would be wonderful. I really don't know how else to go about finding what happened to someone like this.
many thanks. ... more >>

I would really like all the details you have of Isabella's descendants, as my notes are sketchy.
I don't have her death yet, but I'm still looking.
Do you have the details of your grandfather George? John ladyman's son? I only have his birth. Was your dad's name George too?
Can you reply to my email address?

Hi Pat,
I am pleased to recieve your note.
I have information back to Thomas Ladyman 1705 Keswick. I have quite a lot (but not all!!) on Thomas and Ellen Ladyman, but don't know which of his children you are descended from.
My husband Les is desended from Thomas Ladyman 1802's cousin Joseph Ladyman 1806 (son of Timothy Ladyman 1774 who was a brother of Thomas Ladyman 1770 father of Thomas 1802. All of Keswick.
Joseph migrated to Adelaide S Australia in 1839.
Are you able to exchange information please?
Best wishes
