  • The horsemarket area is very pleasant but could do with some outdoor cafe tables under the trees and maybe an area for playing boule. This is already an area for restaurants, cafes and pubs so why duplicate that on the Market square. Have you noticed that the town is being zoned into new quarters, seven in all. Doesn't add up.
  • FIT GIRLS...OOHHH YES....SLAP HER UP AND FUCK HER UP
  • Kettering is fast becoming one of the more sophisticated towns of the East Midlands. There are numerous luncheon clubs for the older citizen located here, together with an abundance of cultural societies - the details of which are easily available from the local library. Housing in the locale is of a high standard and fortunately there are few of the excrescences of the early 1970s. Restaurants of diverse cuisines are popular within the town and the delightful villages which surround it. The heritage of the area is remarkable, from the rough goings on in Rothwell - which the locals quaintly call "Rowell" - to the stately pile of His Grace the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry at Boughton, which is regularly visited by royalty and was the site of one of Princess Mararets's many trysts with unsuitable bed-partners.
  • Sawyers isnt a bad place to go.Avoid Bar Sun theres more excitment in the graveyard down the road.

  • Everything's close at hand
  • is there any?
  • The Melton Arms, great little pub
  • I'm moving soon
  • Wicksteed Park, although please note that Charles Wicksteed would NOT be turning in his grave regarding car parking charges as when he was knocking about he would have probably been the only one driving in his park. Besides, they need to pay to keep the grass cut so you can park there in the first place.

  • The best thing about Kettrin' is that it is not too far away from Broughton, where other famous people live
  • Any of the skate spots are great.
  • Friendly people.
  • the night life.
  • Corby's high-achieving CTC school is close-by, so is Rockingham Speedway. Good atmosphere in the town centre on nights out.
  • There is a real sense of community. Everyone minds their own business and looks after number 1. People tend to look at the ground when they walk in the town centre, lest they upset some hoodlum and get glassed. If your into old towns, you might like it... but if you want to throw your spirits to the wind go to Wicksteed Park and ummm, have fun!!!!! You want to move here? .... DON'T! PLEASE!
  • its 8 miles away from Corby

  • Saturday nights
  • Kettering football club
  • They are harder than there rivals corby! They have a respectable looking town centre
  • Not likely to be killed on a night out here
  • The road out of Kettering
  • Kettering used to be the last outpost of Northern Soul. The North Park and Tin Hat hosted acts such as The Showstoppers, Ben E King, Garnett Mimms, Jimmy Ruffin, Garnett Mimms etc. Kettering has always had real tradition and real spirit compared to its neighbors. The Poppies
  • A14 - the escape route.
  • Friendly atmosphere everywhere
  • In the county of squires and spires, Kettering is in the north of the county. The new link road, the A14, gives much improved access to the M1 in the west and the A1 (old roman road, Great North Road) in the east. The leisure village with pool, ice skating, indoor tennis will soon be back up and fully running after financial problems.

There are many historic sites in and around Kettering. Triangular Lodge in Rushton: amazingly it's trianglular, build by Tresham to represent the Trinity. This was the Tudor period when Catholics (the Treshams were devoute) were persecuted. A relative of his was a prime mover in the GUN POWDER PLOT (Guy Fawkes and all that), and was hung, drawn and quatered for his efforts.

The British GP circuit is at SILVERSTONE in the south of Northants about 25 miles away.

  • I worked at Wicksteed Park, as skipper of the Mississippi Queen:
The trip was short and mellow, but the passengers green.
The staff really had their heads together!?@"
Always 'smiling' in all kinds of weather.
  • How could you mention Kettering without referring to Wicksteed Park, surely the biggest 'tourist attraction' in the town? The park was opened in the early part of the century by a prominent local businessman, and continues to give pleasure to thousands of visitors every year.
  • Wicksteed's Park. Spent many, many hours there as a kid and although a great tourist attraction, it has been spoiled by commercialism and Charles Wicksteed would turn in his grave if he knew that motorists were being charged four quid a throw to park their car.
