• Whatever happened to Jonny the Cobbler? The old man with a bike who used to hang around all over the place, but usually near the hospital or Brintons Park. My nan used to deliver him meals-on-wheels and he'd make her attach them to a rope from his window and hoist it up. Just made me think about him cos this site sent me an email earlier addressed to Jonny the Cobbler.

• Beware the groups of canvassers who work the town centre. They operate in packs and home in upon anyone between 18-35 who might buy stuff from a catalogue. A bit of a problem lately.
