- Kingstanding is a god awful place that is one of the last remaining pockets of 'white birmingham' - seriously don't go there, and certainly don't live there, unless you are one of them racist types that thankfully mostly disappeared with the dinosaurs. A truly anaemic area, which in Birmingham these days is quite remarkable

- Check out king George's playing fields in the autumn for magic mushrooms-best place is the far bottom corner from the main road.
- I lived in Kingstanding between 1938-1953.I lived very close to the place where King Charles was suppose to have stood. There was a bunch of trees and a trench with rocks to hold up the sides and a fence around the whole thing, which we used to climb over to go play in there. It was located at the top of the Kingstanding hill, up from the Circle,on a place we called the Common.
- Kingstanding allegedly got it's name from the place where Charles I addressed his troops while going somewhere or other during the English Civil War.
Just up from Kingstanding in Pheasey was the huge Ameraican Air Base during WWII.
Many of the houses in Kingstanding are pre-war and soem still have the Anderson shelters in the back gardens!
